Hi Molly,
My sister's name is Suzie. Next to my mom, she's the relation closest to my children...
My mom just called and my sister saw the endocrinologist today. He has given her a shot (I think my mom said cortisone) and also given her some additional medication. Apparently it will take her body some time to adjust.
After all of these experiences, my mom is insistent that I get checked. My thyroid results always come back on the low, low side of normal...
I can't thank you all enough for your prayers...

Dear Ladies,
I spoke with my sister this morning - she should have been in a myxedema coma because of her counts and yet she wasn't!
Also, the doctor said that she needed an additional medicine to use in conjunction with the one they gave her at the hospital.
A friend today asked if she didn't have a tumor...so I mentioned that to my mom and I hope that they talk to the doctor on Tuesday when she is scheduled to go back.
Again, thank you for your prayers. Really, all of the doctors on her case had never seen counts such as her's. Your prayers were (are) invaluable.

Thanks everyone for your prayers...
Suzie will be staying in the hospital at least tonight. Tonight, they will also be testing her for sleep apnea and tomorrow they will be doing some pulmonary tests and confirming whether or not her brain is receiving enough oxygen. Today, she was given a barium swallow to make sure there are no obstructions.
The doctors all believe this to be thyroid related but are doing the tests as precautionary measures to ensure these are not additional problems. Her TSH counts that were 324 are down in the 280 range and while that is still high it is an improvement...in addition, they have doubled her thyroid medication.
I appreciate the emails and prayers and support.
