Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

No, it doesn't sound good. Those sort of infections can be so hard to get on top of, taking months and months, even when things settle, they can flare again, with the battle starting all over again. We know of a friend who was in exactly the same situation. Diabetes never properly controlled.    Continuing to pray for your uncle's spiritual and physical healing.

Praying for your uncle Janette. So very difficult for the entire family. Both my father and brother lost legs to diabetes, and suffered other complications. My brother was miraculously spared losing his other leg when his doctor attended a medical seminar where they discussed using a dual treatment with two powerful antibiotics (I believe one was vancomycin). Both his doctor and others in his practice felt the treatment had miraculous results in my brother's case ~ his foot had turned gangrenous and the prognosis was definitely not positive. May God's most holy and perfect will be done in your uncle's life and most importantly, may this experience bring your uncle the spirtual healing he needs. Praying for your entire family during this difficult time.

Thank you all for the prayers for my uncle! He had his leg amputated but is recovering well otherwise. He now has a lady helping him at home so we hope that this will help improve the "care" situation and this will draw him towards God somehow. Thank you!

Praying for your uncle and his continuing needs, Janette. Our family also knows this sort of situation a bit too intimately... it is so sad and difficult for everyone.

Peace,
Nancy

Hi Janette,

Having one DD with a birth defect in her leg that has traditionally been "treated" with amputation (although hers currently is not) I pray fervently any time I know of or see someone with difficulty in their legs/feet. So, I will hold your uncle close in prayers not only for his physical comfort but also his emotional and spiritual peace that he may turn toward God and find thanksgiving through all this and start taking better care of his body.

God Bless,

Continuing prayers for your uncle as he adjusts to the new challenges in his life.
