Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Michelle, I'm with you. I checked it out of the library and read it but never used it with dd. Not just the 'attitude' problem, but I also did not care for the illustrations of things that don't need to be illustrated, IYKWIM.

I was a little unsure at first about the book as well. But I decided that the illustrations were necessary. Girls need to know that how they are changing is "normal", you can't tell them that as well as the illustrations do. The other illustrations, I believe, are useful in instructing her s well.

I made it very clear that this was a book to stay high on a shelf, for her eyes only.

I will have to re-read it to see what "attitude" you mean. I only recall discussion of hormones and mood change, which are already happening here. I think it is helpful for them to read that the mood swings are normal. My son went through this also.

I also bought my daughter the "feelings" book and journal, to help her deal with the feelings of this time.

I am not saying it is for everyone, but I do think that it is all in there for a good reason.
