Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

:: This thread under construction for a few minutes ::

There are a couple of spin-off threads here, so I'm going to make some new dedicated threads for them. It makes them easier to search and also easier to add resources and ideas to in the future.

Adding links to the new spin off threads. Some posts were moved from this thread to those new posts, so if you can't find your post here where you originally left it, look in one of the new threads, you'll find your post there!

SPIN-OFF THREAD: Jen Mack's Coffee Table books - taken apart for art

SPIN-OFF THREAD: Jenn Miller's Variations on the File Crate System

This thread has given me SO much confidence in my home school! That is probably crazy sounding but it has made me realize we aren't the only ones.

I took my daughter to the doctor today and her prescription wasn't ready when we got to the pharmacy. They said 15 minutes please. So while sitting in the car she was antsy, asking how long has it been. I continuously told her how long it had been and she answered with how many minutes were left. I thought to myself, we even got Math done while sick! And felt great about that!

Blessings~
Megan

How wonderful, Megan!

You know, these homeschool confessions, while sometimes shocking ( ) and sometimes funny ( ), are really all about accepting education as occurring alongside life. You can hardly disentangle them, and I'm going to bet that most of us wouldn't want to! It is perhaps one of the unique strengths of the support offered on this board - we consider education outside of the box, as a part of real life. Learning happens all throughout those moments that present themselves in the course of the ordinary day, and it's great to begin to connect that those moments contain REAL learning. It isn't always planned, and often those are the most fantastic and memorable moments! It is truly learning within the context of life. So glad you're in the club with us, Megan!
