Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My kids keep a couple pairs of their everyday shoes on a bookshelf in the playroom that is right next to the door we come in. Church shoes and off season shoes are kept in their closets and rain boots are kept in the garage. It took me A LONG time to do this, but it works MOST OF THE TIME. As soon as we come in the house, shoes come off and are put on the bookshelf. Then everyone washes their hands. I am still trying to figure out what to do with coats though! Plus, socks are a disaster. The kids tend to take them off wherever they want and I can never find matches. And I only have 3 kids. I can't imagine what you have to deal with!!!!!!

I would love to show you what dh made me, it's just basically some wood shelves to put shoes on. I have pics but don't know if it's okay to post them?

But I have someone assigned as their chores to tidy that area, that person can provide some positive peer pressure to the others to do better.

The best part however is that we want a habit in our home of it being tidy and orderly, then they experience regularly the positive benefits of order. We *hope* that will prove to make them uncomfortable in mess and disorder, hopefully it will become as natural as putting a seatbelt on when one gets into the van! Hope so anyway.

Lately, the houses I've been in (I know I'm not suppose to compare, but really I was trying to secretly get some ideas ) I never saw any shoes, at all, anywhere!

That is because they threw them all into the closet in a last-minute tidy!!!

Sorry, I'm no help at all. We have shoe pile-up near the front and garage doors, depsite the children each having a cubby shelf in the garage right outside the door where they kick off their shoes! We're terrible at follow-through. {sigh}
