Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Or, that is, looking at it again, just doing the basic-parts-of-speech chapters, but maybe skipping Sergeant Parsing, nominative case, etc, and saving them for later.

Personally I haven't used either Grammer Land or Aunt Ruth's Grammar, but of friend of mine has used both and RAVED about Aunt Ruth's Grammar.

I will be using the book and worksheets this year!

ETA: You can just order the book through Amazon, as well!

I just briefly looked at it and will come back to read the sight more carefully, but the one sample page looks very cute. Thanks for adding another resource.

I wanted to update this thread with an offer for Grammar Land that is good for TODAY (JANUARY 9, 2012) ONLY!

Homeschool Freebie of the Day is offering Grammar Land as a free pdf download AND a free Audiobook download available through Librivox.

LOL. Of course they are, because I already own both the hardback and the epub from Yesterday's Classics now.

The Librivox link should be free ALWAYS, even if it's the selection from Homeschool Freebie of the Day today.

I love Homeschool Freebie of the Day.

Oh, that is wonderful! We were just going to begin reading Grammar-Land today. I am so excited that it is available on Librivox too!

I downloaded the pdf from Homeschool Freebie today too! I don't plan to use it until DS is a little older (he's 7) but it's great to have it as a resource!

We are almost done with this book and I can't say enough good about the content. My ds is in 5th grade this year, and I feel like he has learned a lot but it might be better suited for a slightly older child. Definitely get the worksheet, it really enforces the hilarious stories! This book really nails all of the nuances in the English language it's just awesome.

Thanks! I knew there was a reason why I came back online instead of finishing getting dinner ready!

Are there separate worksheets that are available to coordinate with Grammar Land?   Where do you get them?

I've never come across them, Melinda....but I do have a vague memory of someone mentioning them. ?? Maybe someone remembers? We just did the exercises aloud.

Grammar-Land Worksheets Part 1
Grammar-Land Worksheets Part 2
