Early this morning, at 12:30 am, Chris passed peacefully from this life to his reward. We were all at his side to pray him home. |

We are praying for comfort in your loss, the loss for all your family, dear Jen.

Friends,
I am humbled and blessed by all of you!!!
The past few weeks have been emotionally, physically and spiritually exhausting. First, there was the grueling climb to the cross, and then having to say goodbye. The pain is just beyond my ability to express in words. And now, it's about finding a new normal, without Chris with us. It is so painful because we all miss him so much and because he was so much a part of our every-day.
He is still very much with us though, and I do feel his simple, quiet, sincere spirit reassuring me... "Nap," he would tell me. "Quit sweating all of this and TRUST." "Go to Divine Mercy." "Rejoice in the little things." "Don't strip Mysteries of their mystery by trying to know everything." "Accept the suffering, offer it back, and let Our Lady take care of the accounting work." I'm trying, Chris. God's will be done.
Chris continually points me in the right direction when I begin to focus too much on *him* or on *myself*. Chris was a master craftsman and woodworker. His wish and prayer was always that anything that he may have put his hands, heart and soul into would always point back to Christ. When this sentiment needed expression, or if Chris chose to sign something he worked on, he chose the words of the Psalmist, NON NOBIS, "Not to us, not to us, O Lord, but to Your Name be the Glory." (Psalm 115) So, with prayer and God's grace and mercy, I pray that we will find our *new normal* more firmly anchored to Chris' prayer and lifetime expression - NON NOBIS.
Thank you all for praying me through quiet space to begin to work out *the new normal* with God's tremendous grace and with the help and support of all of your prayers. Again, I'm without words to express how much you all mean to me and how much I love you!

Jen, your beloved brother left such a tremendous legacy through his faithful spirit and words. Such a heart and soul are rare in this life. May all the blessed moments you shared with your dear brother Christopher, and all his heartfelt words, be a healing balm and light for your soul, especially when you find yourself missing his presence among you. Be gentle with yourself in the days ahead, as you embrace your "new normal". When my brothers and parents each passed away grief would often come in waves, at times I least expected ~ usually when life seemed to be getting back to "normal". There is absolutely no human timetable for grief ~ no right or wrong way to travel its path. Give yourself permission to embrace grief as part of your new normal. There just are no words to truly express how much you are cared for and how many prayers are being sent your way.
The verse below was part of my mother's "refrigerator legacy" ~ one of many quotes or Scriptures she kept taped to her refrigerator as long as any of us could remember ~ I think this one found its way there when my youngest brother left us suddenly, 13 years ago this month, after many years of suffering, much like your own dear brother:
"The souls of the just are in the hand of God...Their passing away was thought an affliction....But they are in peace...Chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed, because God tried them and found them worthy of Himself. As gold in the furnace, He proved them, and as sacrificial offerings He took them to Himself." Wisdom 3:1-6

Jen,
What a privilege for you to have known and loved Chris and what a beautiful expression of your love for him.

Wow, Jen. As Robin said, our loss is heaven's gain. And you have shared your blessing with us. Thank you. I have great doubt I need to do this (because he's probably already in heaven), but I will pray for your brother's soul.

Jen,
I haven't been on the forum lately but the emails have filtered thru my email box and with each one I offered a Hail Mary or Our Father for you, your family, and your sweet brother's soul.
I am so sorry for your loss. Love and Prayers.
