Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We don't have a Catholic school where I live now, so it is not an option. Before we moved, my oldest attended a parish school and I was happy with it. I wouldn't have been able to send any of my others for financial reasons. I had been wishing for a Catholic school where we live now for about two years. I even thought about starting one. However, within the last few months I have finally come to the place where I am happy with homeschooling because of its benefits to our family and the children individually. I have finally learned how to combine homeschooling and working (I work at home mostly, in the office out of the home sometimes) and that is a big reason why I no longer desire a Catholic school. I am finally at peace with homeschooling and anticipate that my four younger kids will be homeschooled at least until high school (and even for high school if they choose).

I am probably entering into this conversation late.
We had our children at the local Catholic schools and as our schools here are 85% funded by govt. they are answerable to them.
I found the basic thinks like Faith, Prayers Learning of the Saints. class Masses were not be acheived. Then to discover 80% of the children are not Catholic.

We took our last one out of the local primary school when she was 7. Best thing we ever did. And our middle 2 out of High school at age 14,15. They were too entredged in the system by then. At least I had those years last few years with them.

The system seemed to change about 10-12 years ago and I if I had my time again, I would have kept them all home and homeschooled them all.
I hated sending them back to school after school holidays. I loved spending time with them.
I just may not have heard Gods' call til then.

There is a massive difference between a homeschool child and a non homeschool child. I see it in my own family.
