He's doing well, thanks, Amy! He notices an itchy throat when he eats wheat, but it doesn't progress into something bigger, so we're wondering if it's somewhat pyschosomatic or a feeling he just needs to get used to.
We're taking it slowly...

Wow Jenn. Even if it turns out he cannot tolerate it as a regular part of his diet, what a blessing to know he will be able to receive the host at communion without fear of a more serious reaction. Praying, though, that if he's outgrown this much, he can outgrow any itchiness and mild intolerance!

I've updated in Original Post. I'm sad to say the itchiness never went away. He was uncomfortable, and only for a few things did he really want to eat wheat. Fast forward to Saturday he just broke out head to toe rash and terribly itchy. Doctor says it's an acute delayed reaction. So we're back to avoidance.

Argh.
What a roller coaster, Jen. I'm glad the reaction at least wasn't worse.
Maybe wait a week or two on dairy so his system isn't all charged up already?
Praying this will all be far behind you someday soon!
