Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

NO WAY. NO GUILT. Not healthy for you or baby and medically you would be advised to be standing and walking every 2-3 hours I believe which would make the trip ridiculously long...and you should not have to explain to anyone why you cannot attend. I do not even think airlines let you fly that late. If hubby needs to go he can fly and you can get a nice friend to come to your house help with the littles and take a nap!

My sister traveled to her in-laws, who lived one hour away, when she was 34 weeks pregnant. Well, the baby ended up being born at the hospital by her in-laws. It was a huge stress.
I can only imagine what a strain it would be to have the baby born at a hospital 16 hours from home!
Tell your in-laws you can't go. Anyone who gives you a hard time is being selfish and unreasonable.

Thank you all for your replies! I hope it all works out. Anyone who knows anything about me/us knows we don't have the greatest communication skills. That explains why I sent him an email explaining why we wouldn't be able to go together. He didn't talk to me that night. We're talking now, but not about that. So, I'm not sure what he thinks.

I almost feel a bit guilty, b/c of refusing to go. But I know I shouldn't. I honestly had no idea of the seriousness of varicose veins and blood clots and DVT. Definitely serious enough to refuse to go.
to all.
