Please will you pray for my dh's job situation. He has been told that the company may let him go at the end of April. He is a hard-working, loyal asset to this company and now daily has this hatchett over his head. He is sending out resumes, but works in a field where good jobs are few and far between.
There is a silver lining to this cloud. We are sending resumes to Phoenix, instead of Tucson where we live now. All of us are happy about the prospect of moving back to Phoenix where we once lived for 9 years (and being Angie Mc's neighbors!).
As long as I'm asking for your prayers, please also pray that we can find a reasonably priced home. On top of it, house prices in Phoenix have soared immodestly.
St. Joseph intercede for us!

Holy St. Joseph, spouse of Mary,
Be mindful of us; pray for us; watch over us.
Guardian of the paradise of the new Adam, provide for our temporal wants.
Faithful guardian of the most precious of all treasures,
we beseech thee to bring this matter to a happy end if it be for the glory of God and the good of our souls.
Amen
I'm praying this one almost constantly these days, Victoria. I'll add your intentions to mine.

Beautiful prayer, Elizabeth. My heartfelt thank you. Are you still in a "might move for a job" situation?

Victoria, Be assured of prayers! I was just reading an article in the Washington Post in the Real Estate section talking about how investors have ballooned the markets, and Phoenix doesn't want any more speculators for the home buying. Of course, the one article I want isn't online.
But we have the same problem here. We're buying a single family home, 4 bed and it just BOGGLES the mind the price you have to pay...for postage stamp yards, poor construction, etc.!!! I feel your pain, and sending prayers to St. Joseph for you.
Some links on St. Joseph helping to sell your home (PLEASE don't bury a statue upside down!) St. Joseph Altar, Selling Your Home and Prayer to St. Joseph for the Sale of Real Estate
Now St. Joseph can help sell, but who helps with finding and buying?????????? Can you believe that in this hot market I have to make a split minute decision on a major purchase, or else I've lost the house? Ugh

Thank you, Jenn, so much for feeling my pain That's exactly it; investors with money have changed the landscape of real estate in Phoenix. It's sickening. Yes, I can believe you have to make a split minute decision on a house. Buyers are bidding over listing price and homes don't even make it onto the MLS. It's crazy.
We know the Lord WILL provide though Thank you again, Jenn.

I found the article, if you wish to read it. It was originally from the Chicago Tribune: Home investors wear out welcome: Stock market woes induce many to try flipping real estate By Mary Umberger.
If you could say a prayer for us...we put an offer on a house yesterday...still waiting to hear about it. It's not my dream location, but it's our second choice, and it's a very nice house, almost everything we want. Big yard is a huge plus. Just waiting to see if God wants us to have it! We've experienced so many disappointments in the past months...we started this process back in July! It's been a long saga.

Our prayers continue, Victoria! What a rollercoaster ride your family has been on.
Is it just awful for me to selfish happy feelings about the potential outcome?
Speaking of real estate...I hear that Apache Junction is VERY reasonable (don't tell anyone else, LOL.)

Well, now, I don't think it's awful because I have selfish happy feelings too!! I hear more and more nice things about Apache Junction!
P.S. I love what you wrote at the forum title page:

Prayers said. Please let us know when you hear! I wish Santa could help us find the right house, like in Miracle on 34th Street...

I wish I could take credit for this! To be honest, setting up this message board was the labor of love of many so I'm not even sure who to give credit to .
I do believe!

I wish it was that simple! I just heard from our realtor...after waiting all weekend to hear if we got the house, the offer was turned down. I am SOO upset. Do we just attract strange situations, or what?
Our offer was really solid, except we asked for simulataneous closings, since our money is tied up our house. We've already had some strange incidences in selling our house that we need something to protect ourselves. Well, these sellers are building a house in Tampa and their home builder won't allow them to enter into a contract with any contingencies!!
I am so sick of this process!!!! I will spare you the details... I always feel funny asking for prayers since my request is so little in comparison to the other requests around here. But thanks for the prayers.

Sorry to hear the offer was turned down. Darn it. You did the right thing to ask for the contingency. We lost big time once by not keeping a contingency on a new construction house. More and more I'm hearing that no one in my area is taking contingencies because there's someone right behind you without one.
I know, I usually hold off on asking others for prayers for the same reason. But if something's on our hearts, we should ask and this forum is a wonderful spot to ask. I'm glad you did. Better luck with the next offer. And to think Our Lord only needed a stable...

Drum roll please...dh heard yesterday that his job is safe. His boss acted as if having a hatchett over your head for three months is really nothing at all. Things couldn't be better now according to him.
We are back to square one. Does dh continue the over 2 hr round trip drive per day or do we move closer? Can we trust the company now? More praying to do!
Thanks to everyone for praying for us.

Glad to hear the good news, though I understand how hard it is to really trust...
