Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Adding my welcomes to Monica and Brandi!

The great leap off the homeschooling cliff seems so huge...but I can assure you that the ladies here make the landing soft, gentle and fascinating!

I'm so glad you're here...

I'm Sherry, Catholic mom to three (b10, g9, b7). I homeschooled my youngest for one semester in the past but would like to homeschool all three eventually. I feel called to start with my oldest as he's leaving elementary this coming year. And yes, it feels like I would be jumping off of a cliff. :-)

This is a re-introduction.

I've been off this board - and most other boards and lists for a long time. My name is Nissa. I am blessed to be the mother of 8 wondrous children aged 6 months to 18 years.

We've graduated our eldest from homeschool. She is now pursuing a degree in photography. Over 14 years of home education, I have developed a curriculum of my own, one that incorporates what I consider to be the best of nearly all methods.

We are restoring a large farmhouse on nearly 300 acres in Massachusetts.

Brian and I will celebrate 20 years of marriage in July. He will, God willing, be ordained a permanent deacon in June 2012. Our ministry is to families and young people.

Blessings,

More like a re-introduction. I've been on a long board break and, well, I miss y'all. Can I come back?

My name is Jennifer, I am 39 and married with 4 children. 3 daughters ages 11, 10 and 8, and a 4yo little boy. My husband is in the Air Force and we moved to Texas last August after 3 years in Colorado.

I'm glad to be here!
Jennifer

Hi all, my name is Sara and I'm the mama to an almost-three-year old boy and a seven-month-old girl. I've been lurking for a bit and finally decided to sign up and ask a few questions. We won't be doing any formal schooling for a few more years, but I was homeschooled myself until high school, and my husband works in education, so we have lots of opinions to sort through in the meantime! I am also trying to spend this time establishing some good habits we can rely on in the future. I really appreciate all the food for thought and the incredible number of resources I've already found here!

I'm Michelle. A Catholic, military wife and mother looking for a homeschool community so far away from the USA(Germany). I have 2 children (daughter: 11 & son: 5), but will just begin Kinder w/ my youngest next year. Have some apprehensions about that being that my oldest is beginning 6th grade. WHO will NEED more of my time??? AND how will I keep the family working together well???

Look forward to "meeting" a new family.

Hi Michelle!

We started our homeschool adventure when we were stationed in Italy (ds grade 5, dd grade K). Two things helped us a lot: monthly field trips with our base's homeschool group, and studying the same basic topics for social studies/history, science, and art. The best part for us was being able to sync with my husband's crazy duty schedule/sea time.

Welcome to 4Real...you'll find so much support here!
