Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi, I am a homeschooling mother to 3 wonderful children ages 15, 13, and 11. I am trying to simplify our schooling while adding more living books. I am married to a great, hardworking man. Our family lives in Mississippi. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi, I am a homeschooling mom to 5 kids -9,8,6, 4 & Baby (5 mos). I am looking forward to meeting you all and discussing homeschool methods. I guess I thought everyone here did Charlote Mason methods, but it looks like there are Seton people here as well.
Also, please see my prayer request for my baby Patrick on the prayer request board.

Hi. I am Lori. I am a soon to be Catholic (this Easter)

How exciting, Lori. I'll be praying for you as this date approaches.

Welcome all new members. It's great to have you join us here. It is also exciting to see many of you jumping right into conversations.

As Melinda noted we have a wide variety of members here and don't prescribe that anyone has to follow a particular method to join. Our origins as a message board do come from a previous Catholic Charlotte Mason online group. Since that is the foundation, our ministry is to emphasize 'Living Learning' - living books, hands-on, nature study, etc.

Hello to all,

I wanted to introduce myself and say a warm hello to everybody. I hope I get to know you and share in your journey.

We are a Catholic family (David and Raquel) blessed with three children, Maria 8, Rebecca 6 and Samuel 4. David works as an assistant teacher and he is on the verge of publishing his first novel. I have homeschooled with various curriculums and now we follow Our Lady of Victory plus our own style of lessons, including plays, handwork, etc...you could see a peek of our stories on http://marianhomeschool.blogspot.com
I come from Spain, the northest region by the Pyrinees, and I ask forgiveness right away for my poor grammar and mistakes!!!

I have been following for a while this forum and felt many times relieved by this community, a place that shares in the faith and in the journey of family life.

God bless,

raquel

Hi Raquel. Welcome to 4 Real. We are glad to have the added cultural diversity and will not care about grammar . Thanks for sharing your blog, too. It's fun to catch a glimpse into member's life and homeschool.

So does that mean you are Basque?

Thanks Mary,

I actually come from Catalonia, the northern part of Spain just below the Pyrinees, but I have some ancestors from the Basque region.

I looked your web too, pretty and useful! thanks again,

I was asking since my mother is Basque - her parents emigrated to the US in the 1920s. That picture on my blog/website is from a picture my mom got in Spain. It is an old Basque woman teaching the children the sign of the cross.

Hi all! I am a writer, pianist, and most importantly, mother to one wonderful four year old boy. We will be starting homeschooling with the Little Saints curriculum as soon as it arrives in the mail; I am very excited about it. I have been reading over the forums, and am looking forward to learning from all of you.

Hello everyone!
I have finally joined this forum after reading it for the last month or so.
I have 3 children ages 10, 8 and almost 5.

We have always loosely followed a Charlotte Mason philosophy without really knowing. I found this out after doing a bit more research over this last year.

I joined this forum so I could learn some more from everyone here and share ideas. I really want to fully embrace this philosophy of education! I also need to shed some old ways and get out of some ruts, which might take a bit... perhaps a good project for Lent?
