Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Wonderful ideas! I'm unfamiliar with the 7 fish tradition. Could anyone elaborate?

We do the 7fish thing. As far as I know it is an Italian tradition. We have stuffed calamari in a tomato sauce with pasta. Then we have a lot of fried fish: shrimp, fillet. We used to have smelts and eel too but all the people who like that are gone . We also have a cold seafood salad. I am not sure why this tradition exists but we have always done this. Christmas Eve was always the bigger holiday and I continue to try to remedy this! But I do love Christmas Eve!!

We did live in southern Italy, on the coast - two times. I don't know if eels are popular in the north, although I know they do sell them there.
