Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We're doing stir fry, too here, Amy. Love those zoo sticks

But cereal sounds like a great option! Then I could spend more time here.

Wow that was a lot of reading to catch up with this retreat. Will join for as long as my one yr old allows . We just got back from our hs holiday party so I missed a lot, hope I can get the hang of this.

I'm wearing... Levi jeans, an Ann Taylor green moss turtle neck and moss green tone Earth shoes.

I'm drinking...a cup of this Culinary Teas: Holiday blend

Outside..it's actually raining in CA and our little backyard hill looks gorgeous

A favorite thread...almost anything CM and love the picture book threads

If I weren't on this retreat...I'd be reading from The Firesides Book of Christmas Stories (currently reading The Birds' Christmas Carol) and being referee to my kids playing in their rooms

I'm hoping... My husband doesn't have to work late and is safe

You are killing me, Michele!
Anyone know of a good gluten-free beer?
(I know, but I can hope, right?)

We just had pizza for lunch and that looks like it would have been perfect with it. I've never heard of it? Will have to check it out at our BevMo.

Sheepishly asking...Am I going to get kicked out of the retreat because I don't know any of the P&P characters?    I never even admitted this in the Would you think less of me? thread that I had not read or watched P&P. There, now I've said it...do with me what you must...

I guess fast food is really fast...can't believe I ate dinner in that length of time...and cleaned up,too! How pathetic is that!

What fun activities are all of you ladies planning for the upcoming week? We are going to be putting up our tree tomorrow and we'll drive up and fetch Grandmother from NJ next Tuesday...

Pretty soon everyone will be here and it will be fun mayhem. I've already put up all the craft/school/little stuff in anticipation of the grandkids.

So while I've been distracted from motherly duties...I just heard the toilet mysteriously flush...the 9month old did it. How???? UGH!

It's a Lousiana brew. My son turned me on to it (how weird does THAT sound?) and I was never even a beer drinker before!

Apparently the Strawberry Wheat is even better, but hard to get.

Sorry T!

Oh, Mary--you are so lucky! Now you get to experience P&P for the first time!!

Pesto pizza with olives is on the table tonight--just taking it out of the oven now. I'll try to check back in once the kids are asleep!

Theresa, a little late but the picture of your new home is gorgeous.

I haven't been able to do much baking this season, but the kids and I did something very simple the other day. We found some "dipper" chocalate chip cookies and dipped them in melted white chocolate sprinkled with peppermint. HHmmm!!! They were good.

I only read P&P at the beginning of this year (and can't get through any of her others ) so it was after I started that thread. You are not alone! Loved the movie(s), only made it all the way through the book after watching the movie!

don't know if they're any good, but apparently there are a few gluten-free beers out there. I (finally ) stopped drinking entirely but can I enjoy them vicariously through you, Theresa?
