Oh the poor dear! I am praying for her, and yes, for every doctor she sees to have the Divine Physician guide his or her hands in treating her!

Maggie, I am so sorry to hear this. What suffering. Irons are a nightmare with small children.
Praying that she will have total healing and relief!

Maggie, I've been thinking of you and your dear girl today! We had a recent incident with 2nd degree burns from boiling water. It wasn't quite as severe as what you describe (an emergency doctor's visit was sufficient), but it is sheer agony to live one of a parent's worst fears and watching your baby suffer so!!! Prayers for you all!

Maggie There are a lot of ways to treat burns I worked with one of the best surgeons in the country he liked Joy dish detergent for scrubbing (turns out he picked it because that is what is mama used ) I am so sorry about the tape job...but I don't think I would have wanted that person scrubbing dds face. ... Make sure and request pain meds first with time for them to work. The skin will be sensitive and this summer sun block will be a nessecity (sp). Prayers for you and your daughter- Annie
PS After years of Ped ER work I don't iron

Thank you all so much for the prayers.
DDs normal ped was not in. So the nurse practitioner came in...and the other doctor came in to just check.
They both agreed to flush out the wound with saline (no scrubbing involved!), apply silvadene and bandages...and see how it goes. She did say it would be a significant scar for at least a year...and over time, it should fade.
I am not sure I am comfortable with this, and they did offer to refer me to a dermatologist. Better safe than sorry when it comes to the face, I think.
DD was very brave and prepared for the worst. I was not going to sugar-coat it for her--but we were armed with St. Philomena oil, a Divine Mercy Holy card...and lots and lots of beautiful Christmas books for distraction (we generally don't break out Christmas books until Christmas Eve--so this really brightened her eyes!).
Continued prayers for her healing is much appreciated. The poor dear has her whole left side of her face covered in a bandage--which she absolutely needs right now, especially if in public.
The poor girl inherited my Irish-Norwegian-Polish fair fair fair complexion...(sigh). The Italian blood never made it her way, I guess...and so...we wait and see how she heals.
She is in lovely spirits, and I attribute that to everyone's sincere and devout prayers!! The doctors were amazed at how calm she was while her wounds were flushed.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
Continued prayers appreciated.
God Bless and MANY THANKS!

God Love you, Maggie, what a difficult time, especially before Christmas. Lily is so, so fair as well.....and even as bad as her scars were from her surgeries this Summer, they are really starting to fade. I didn’t think it was even possible....
Definitely see a specialist!!!!!
Still praying...

We're still praying here!
Silvadene works wonders. Dh burned all the skin off his fingers and burned his face (do not let your children experiment with explosives, my friends...not that his parents knew...) and he has NO scarring, which he attributes to the silvadene.
