we need a most of the above option.
Scapular which has on it -
w/miraculous medal, and st benedicts medal, and a crucifix
These two rings:
Jesus Prayer Ring
Mother of God ring
and usually a saints charm bracelet and a rosary bracelet.
I AM a jewelry wearer.

My dh always wanted to get me a diamond solitaire since I didn't get one at our engagement, and last year he asked what I wanted so he could look. I asked (and received) a gold Miraculous medal and crucifix on a gold chain. I wear it everyday and love it more than I would a solitaire ring. |

ooooooooooooooooooo ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh , Liz.
At this moment, I'm wearing a silver crucifix and miraculous medal (thanks to this topic I was reminded to add it) on the same chain, and a scapular/white chord.
Do any of you pin medals to your under top? A friend finds it a great way to discreetly expand the number of medals she wears. This is what her grandmother did. I like the idea but haven't integrated it yet.
Love,

I also wear an Our Lady of La Leche medal in silver. I have wondered at times if it is a bit silly for me to still be wearing it because of my age... But, I have noticed that many of my heartfelt prayers are for other women who are saddened by infertility or for those who are not (yet) open to life. There are so many who never even consider going beyond 2 children. Anyway, I still wear it and am open for additional medals and such...

Brown scapular, always. Other than that, I don't wear much jewelry: just my wedding ring (and I usually only wear that when I'm out and about) and studs in my ears.

Thanks for asking!
I got it at the Shrine in St. Augustine, FL. There is a gift shop near the Shrine. I don't know if you can get it online anywhere.

They have a Gift Shop Online now.
I got a little statue of Our Lady of La Leche years ago when we phoned the Shrine and ordered it over the phone. So I was thrilled to find them online now that we hope to get one for my MIL who's working as a breastfeeding councelor for WIC.

I had to vote three times . I wear a silver threaded cross with a black leather cord on most days; and some days wear a Rosary (this is always dependent of the whereabouts that I'm going, or perhaps my emotional and spiritual needs for the day - some days it seems I need it more than others. And I also wear a silver Rosary ring along with my wedding rings.

I ordered mine by phone from them also. Like you Stephanie, I'm older and I don't have little ones anymore, but to me the devotion to her under that title is so strong, I'll continue to wear it. Knowing that Our Lady under this title is one of the oldest Marian shrine in the United States makes it special for me as well. (There is an older madonna statue - La Conquistadora in New Mexico - Our Lady of Victory, but a shrine wasn't built until later.)

Well Ladies,
I had no idea you were all so devoted to Our Lady of La Leche but I was there this past All Saints day and prayed for each and everyone of you in the beautiful chapel there. My Dad and sister live in St. Augustine and every time I go up there I always stop at the shrine and say my litany of prayers and intentions and I said a special prayer for all of YOU!!!
I especially lifted up all of our pregnant Mommies too!
So, even though most of you won't be there in person please know that your intentions are laid at the feet of Mother Mary there every time I can make my way to the shrine
And if anyone ever has a special intention that they want dropped off over there, just PM me and I would be happy to oblige.
BTW: It is the most peaceful of places and I have 4 great pictures that I cherish of each of my babies nursing on a bench there too

I used to wear a Miraculous Medal. Never ever took it off. Then when I was taken in for my c-section they told me to remove it. That's the only time I during the whole time of the labor and birth of my daughter! I tried putting it back on a few times but my now almost 1 year old like to play with it and usually chokes me with the chain! So now I wear it sporadically I miss it but I'd rather not get choked!

I usually wear a Miraculous Medal, but it is a small one and only fit on one chain that DH gave me for Christmas one year. It accidently became caught on DD's booster seat when I leaned over to clean it one time and broke. So now I need a new chain or a bigger medal so I can go back to wearing it.

My Our Lady of La Leche shield shaped medal came in today along with the Motherhood prayer cards. I'm sooo excited! It's just beautiful!! The pictures on their website just don't do it justice at all.

I used to wear a lot of (nice, but gaudy in quantity) jewelry - early high school was the worst: 2-3 necklaces, 8 rings, bangle AND charm bracelets - I was a racket - you could hear me coming for miles. And a pair of earrings (usually hoops with a charm hangingin off but those got shorter and shorter). I am so embarrassed
Then I simplified it a bit, but still had multiple rings, a necklace, a watch and a bracelet when I was engaged to someone several years ago (and by then, double ear piercings). He made a good point: the only ring on my finger should be the one he puts there. It struck a cord in me and I've not worn more than one ring at a time since.
Before my son came along I had simplified to a necklace holding a crucifix, holy medal, and my great-aunt's wedding band; and only religious or gemstone earrings (all small!).
I don't think I've worn earrings for a good 4 years, but maybe once in a great while? It just sort of faded.
And only in this past year did I give up the necklace. It still hangs in my bathroom, it is so beautiful, but I'm not tied to wearing it, the freedom is so wonderful, the man courting me prefers very simple and limited/no jewelry, and continued reading of the Fathers of the Church just leaves me wondering.
Anyone who says people can't change, hasn't seen my jewelry process!

Catholic mummy, I am hearing you. i used to wear far too much jewellry, but I simplified it all.
My youngest dd 12, gave me a 'mum', in the shape of a heart and half a mum and daughter- she has the other half., I slipped these both onto my chain that hold my miraculous medal and a crucifix. THat way they are all together.
I used to have my ears pierced twice, but I let them close up and only wear simple earrings now.
My husband likes things simple, so I have never received an eternity ring- we have been married 23 years, but I wear my nannas wedding band in its place.
I also wear a claddagh ring that we bought for each other on our 10th wedding anniversary.

I wear a cross similar to this one. It's tiny and from a distance just looks like an innocuous little cross. But I love that it has so much tucked into it. I got it at the National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi in San Francisco a couple years ago when dd did her 4th grade Mission Project on that mission. We learned it was the only building in that area to withstand the Great Quake of '06. The walls are so very thick and it's just beautiful inside.
