Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

HA! Grace you are not the only one who noticed this....I thought, "hmmm, I know Texas has had a lot of rain lately, but I must have missed the ice storm part."
DUH is me....I just caught this after re-reading the entire thread and paying attention to the dates.

Oh wow, Michele, am I ever jealous! I have wanted to move there ever since my mother discovered CM back when I was in highschool. (Nope I wasn't homeschooled.)

Oh, I'm so glad everyone LOVED this movie TOO! It's definitely worth buying and even though I saw it when it came out, I'm wanting to see it AGAIN now with all your talk about it here!!

I went on a huge personal rabbit trail too, back in April (or whenever it came out).....my husband thought I was nuts with a zillion books from the library about Beatrix Potter stacked at the side of my bed.   He said, "I bet even your crazy 'forum-mom-friends' aren't looking at all those books!" Now, I can tell him that you are!!!!

I've watched the movie three times this weekend - our rental goes back tonight. What an inspiration this movie has been to me and my 11 year old daughter! We made a trip yesterday to a local craft shop for watercolor paints and brushes...she's been drawing and painting scenes of little rabbits and mice. I have 4 more books of inspiration and the movie soundtrack coming in soon.

Thanks for the positive reviews. I'm about to go out RIGHT NOW to rent it. My kids are a little bummed about the movie choice for a family night. I promised them its good because you ladies said so.

I can't wait to see it!

I saw this beautiful movie on the big screen and I really loved it but with this thread going again, I am dying to get it out on dvd for the whole family...but it is not released here in Australia until the 11th - this Thursday...I will just have to be patient.

We just finished watching it and the girls LOVED it!!

My oldest said tomorrow she's going to read Beatrix Potter stories. We haven't read them all but thankfully had read all the ones mentioned in the movie.

Also, MANY years ago when my oldest was only 2 yo, I had found some Beatrix Potter paintings and had them hung in her room. When we moved to our house this past January, the girls said they didn't want "babyish" pictures up. So, reluctantly, I didn't hang them up.

Well, they said they've changed their minds and want their pictures back!!

I can't wait to watch it again. Thanks for starting this thread and recommending this movie. `

Just wanted to let any sewers know about this lovely Potter fabric I just found! The book panel yardage would be so pretty for a baby gift.

I am halfway through this movie and I love it love it love it! The only reason I turned it off is that it was 11:00 p.m. when I started it and at midnight I turn into a bleary-eyed pumpkin.

Which is no way to watch this movie!

I sense a rabbit trail coming on here...and with the movie needing to go back to Blockbuster tomorrow, I know we'll be requesting it through Netflix. I'm glad you ladies said it's for the family; after last night's High School Musical debacle, (blech--not recommended), I was beginning to doubt my judgement!

Well I saw it again and the children saw it as well (and dh) and we all enjoyed the evening.

It is such a charming movie that incorporates the coming to life of her artwork and personalizing it that gives this movie added depth and quirkiness.

I especially like how they handled the scene of her locked in her room after the death of her finance and her interaction with her art and characters, with it finally, all scattered around the room - a great capturing of her mind in such turmoil and grief...

I broke down and ordered the movie from Amazon-it was listed as an "extremely long wait" on Netflix. It came yesterday and I watched it last night...it was wonderful. I now want to start saving my pennies for a visit to the Lake District.
