Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I should probably mention that by some incredible grace we moved (this past weekend) to the house of my dreams. Not a mansion by any means (it's a rancher actually ) but it has EVERYTHING I ever told my dh I wanted in a house. I am still pinching myself because the way it worked out was, well, nothing short of miraculous and frankly I am so grateful that although there are MANY things I could ask for (Kindle, treadmill, new living room furniture) I would really just be happy to give honor to Our Lady by placing her statue prominently in my big bay window.

Was wondering about the "new kitchen", Michele! Saw that on FB and thought maybe you remodeled. So happy for you. Congratulations!!! And that's a beautiful way to honor Mama Mary.

When my dear dad passed away two years ago this Nov. 30th, I inherited a small box with his parents' jewelry. Most of it is not anything we would wear (one thing I can't even figure out what it is!) But, I did find a very old Our Lady of Mount Carmel medal, that my grandmother must have brought from Germany when she immigrated in very early 1900's. I was so excited, especially because I know she was Lutheran, but somehow she had a Catholic influence somewhere. I felt it gave us a connection.

So, long story to say I was hoping to get a gold chain on which to wear my grandmother's medal. However!, my new gift has to be my root canal.

I had a problem with my bridge last week, and I wound up with a lovely 2 hour root canal, on top of which, I have to go back on Sat. for a second round, as the endodontist discovered a fourth root! Yippee! And no dental insurance adds up to a lot. But I am grateful we had just enough in savings to pay for it. I simply couldn't ask dh for anything, after this. He will still insist on something, so I will probably pick up what I need, new undies.

In Christ,
Stacy in MI

A very large dutch oven, like a Le Creuset. My old large ceramic dish exploded on my stovetop a few weeks back and caught fire (now THAT was fun, luckily it was just a gross mess and there was no injury or damage).

We're hoping and praying for a healthy new grandbaby just before Christmas, and praying to be able to make the long trip out of state to be able to meet her! The longer I live, the more I realize it's not about giving or receiving gifts, but ALL about the sacred event of Christ's birth and truly sharing His grace and love with others.

I've seen a lidded rainbow coloured basket that i would love to keep my knitting in. And also saw a nice statue of Our Lady - actually one that is beautiful enough! But I think "my" Christmas gift will be being able to get one bought gift each for the children - I know nothing will be as good as seeing them happy and thankful for the little things they would really like which we cannot make ourselves.

Oh! I have been wanting a big Our Lady of Fatima statue too! Those are beautiful! Trying to get my non -believing husband to agree is another story!

I am terrible...I tell everyone NO PRACTICAL GIFTS! Anything that smells good (candles, perfume) or looks good (earrings, etc), does wonders. They are used to me by now!

Actually, the best gift I get every year is a gift card to Barnes and Noble. Then he watches the children so I can go an BROWSE with a frap. He knows I will be gone hours. This, to me, is the best gift!

I love hearing everyone's suggestions. Bridget

Oh, yes, without a doubt! My favorite gift as well.

Chances are I won't get that Ipad anyway. That's wishful thinking. But I have been wanting a gold holy medal. Just not sure which one.

My birthday is in December, so for my birthday I always want a gift certificate to Joann's Fabrics so I can sew for Christmans.
For Christmas I just want to be able to get all the kids gifts (and of course, yarn )

I rarely get out, so something like a gift certificate for a massage, or a manicure or a pedicure, I would absolutely love!
Trim on the house
White doors for our rooms (or a room)
a new mattress
a children's coat locker for their boots, coats and belongings - or at least the materials for one.
Anything to help with organizing and improving the look of the house.
Chocolate brown coloured blinds in the kitchen and dining room.
Amazon gift certificate
new 9x13 baking pans
Getting the inside of our minivan cleaned
new socks
survival supplies in case of any kind of emergency
containers and jars for making herbal items
gifts in a jar!
TTapp Total Workout

Better stop there. Looks like I could go on and on...

And, just in case anyone should happen to be interested, I made a few forms a couple weeks ago for a Children's Christmas Wish List as well as for Christmas cards to send. They can be typed onto online, too. They are right here

I recently discovered that our water glasses (down to 4, and we used to have 12) are now, sadly, very hard to find. I'd love half a dozen new water glasses that match the ones I already own.
