Elizabeth -- prayers coming for all the Foss' (Maggie's still prays every day that the Foss baby is healthy) and now I'll have her add michael to the list....

They ARE nauseating,and how. He went to the chiropractor today. This doc is someone he has a long history with. He barely touched him. There's still so much pain and swelling, he was concerned. I think he alarmed Michael a bit. This is a dear Christian man who is an athlete himself and a youth minister. He and Michael have a "joke our way through this" kind of relationship. But the good doctor was all seriousness today.
The CT turned up some things unrlelated to the injury. Once he's no longer in pain, he needs a bone scan to check on a "calcification" near his hip and a trip to the nephrologist to check on a kidney cyst. And this is the healthy kid I sent to play soccer on Friday...

Corey went back into the school system to pursue sports...namely soccer, though he was good in baseball as well. He injured his knee his sophmore year. It's never been the same, still kinks up on him at times.
But life has happily moved on with other interests, pursuits, and job occupations. 
Except for today. I was on my way to the store earlier today when my dh called me to let me know that Corey's old soccer coach died yesterday of a heartache...at the age of 57...during a race, no less. He leaves behind 5 dc...two of the boys were Corey's age and a year younger.
They traveled the road together. I was in the mist of having my last two babies so Corey often rode with David and his boys for tournament soccer.
I don't mean to parachute into the mist of someone else's thread, but it seems so pivotal to the recent conversation...soccer, health, career, what really matters in life. 
It isn't all about soccer and scores and grades. Is it? It's all about relationships and caring for one another and ...
I haven't told Corey anything yet. He just got home from work and is training a new lab dog for hunting. He's consumed with this dog, so that'll help. But I'm not looking forward to telling him.
This is the coach who saw a future in Corey...who pushed him to be the very best he could be. Corey performed for him like no other coach. And David gave these boys his very best self and coaching. He was an Air Force veteran, if that speaks for the discipline and rigors of his coaching. He became a chemist after that.
Please keep David Cole and his family in your prayers. Thank you!
