begging for prayers....
First off, Daniel is taking a leave of absence from the seminary....at 17 years old we (and his advisors at the seminary and our local parish priest) feel he is just too far from home right now). He can return anytime within the next two years without repeating any of the application process. Also, we are very "country people" and he is totally overwhelmed with New York City and the daily hour commute to St. John's college. He needs our prayers now for peace of mind and to know that we accept whatever he decides to do.
Health wise.....I am at a low point. It seems that the rheumatiod arthritis is affecting the nerves in my arms and legs. So we are starting an aggressive treatment. Actually they have started a chemo drug that has shown progress against RA progression. It is weekly and will make me sick and weak---and it has, for the past two days....I am starting to feel better now, but will take an increased dose of meds on Thursday....
With an already commpromised immune system the dr is concerned about keeping me healthy while taking drugs that will lower my immunity more-- so my blood counts will be monitored every couple weeks to watch what is going on.
I need to start physical therapy---I am delaying calling to get that scheduled because I dread it....
I really feel like I am letting my family down.....school is now going to be so hard, and Mark and Grace are already behind by almost of year of where they should be.....
Feeling pretty down and scared right now...
I would love prayers....
Thanks so much....

Storming Heaven on your behalf, Joann. May our Blessed Mother wrap her arms around you at this moment; know that there are countless friends here praying you through this most trying of times. Of most importance is your health. Your little ones need a happy, healthy Mama, all else will come in good time...
The peace of Christ be with you!

Danny seems to be adjusting well to being home....he is content with his descision(sp) right now...
I am just sooooo whipped right now....I am totally exhausted. I am on week three of the chemo med.....and I believe it is sending all my "numbers" into the basement. I go to my gp doctor on monday and he will run blood count numbers so we can see where I am right now....
I was sick for three days after the first dose of chemo, but the last two doses have been a bit better, thank God.
I just hate feeling like this....it seems like I do something for a few minutes and then I have to rest...

Will continue to offer prayers for you, Joann. I can't even imagine being in your shoes and hope these meds help you find some relief from your suffering so you can have the energy you need for yourself and your family.

I am just so weepy and discouraged....the house is falling down around me...I just can't do it....I have been so sick so many times in the past, for several years is fact, but there was always the day to look forward to when I would be back to normal....I just can't take fact this time is is "being sick" forever....there will be no "back to normal"...it's so awful to feel like this. I have really let my kids down.....
