Chris, Praying for Isla and you. Two of my kids have had broken bones before the age of three (both playing outside). The first time I thought I was in such despair. The second I knew the signs and got my ds to care right away. God is great they bounced back very quickly and didn't want their casts off at the end of it. Have peace! |

This was my experience as well!
Oh, except my dh broke the boy's leg...but that is a whole 'nother story...and the girl's leg was broken by her sister...another story.
The third child fell off a bunk bed....his fault.
Praying that you avoid surgery!

Thank you all, again, for your prayers. Our appointment for sweet Isla is tomorrow morning, quite early, so we've arranged for my MIL to come tonight and stay the night with us so that she may be here with our two older girls and we can avoid waking them and taking them to such an early appointment, at least an hour's drive from home.
We anxiously await the surgeon's word. Please pray that she will be spared surgery ...
This is a prayer that my sister and I have been praying:
PRAYER TO ST. ANTHONY
...for healing for this precious injured child, Isla...
...and the Peace of the Great Kindness of the Presence of our Holy God...
...to flow out and upon this child's dear mother, Chris, and the little one's family and friends...
O Holy St. Anthony,
gentlest of saints,
your love for
God
and charity of His creatures
made you worthy even on earth to possess
miraculous powers.
Miracles
waited on your word
which you were ever ready to speak
for those in trouble or in anxiety
...encouraged by this...
we implore you to obtain
health for precious Isla
The answer to our prayers
may require a miracle,
even so, you are the
Saint of Miracles
O gentle and loving St. Anthony,
whose heart is ever full of human sympathy,
whisper our petitions into the Holy Ears of the
sweet child Jesus,
Who loved to be enfolded in your arms,
and the gratitude of our hearts
will be ever yours.
- prayer based on Sister JoAnn
Dominican Sister of Hope
Mt. St. Mary's Convent
If you'd like to join us in prayer, I humbly thank you. Though my daughter's name is spelled with a "s", the "s" is silent and you pronouce her name like "eye-la", or as in the word "island". Thank you!

Thanks for the update, Chris. I'm glad she doesn't need the surgery. Don't you just love how quickly children's bones mend? Praying for an uneventful 3 weeks.
Peace,
Nancy
