Hi Friends!
We are now DISTRACTOR FREE!!!!!   Woohooo!!!! Everything went very well for Lily, she is a little swollen, but said, “I Ooookay!!!!"  Leaving the hospital without metal sticking out of Lily’s face, without all of the shocked looks..just skipping along...it does this mama’s heart lots of good.  Lily is ecstatic that she can now go to the park, after a 17 week hiatus, and “ Now doggies can lick me on the face”. I know...I know....she loves doggies, and runs to every one of them she sees, wanting to pet them, and especially the lab variety have a penchant for wanting to lick her face  so she has heard me say many times, “No, No...no doggie licking your face!!!” What she doesn’t remember is that I said that BEFORE the distractors were in, too. (Seriously, I do NOT let dogs lick her face....but isn’t it funny how she has latched on to that as a benchmark of progress??)
Peter had a little rough time with his intubation, he has a tiny airway, and as they were working to get him intubated, he got a lot of air in his belly. Due to a very tight Nissen, where they tightened his esophagus and stomach up for reflux when he was a baby....he can’t burp...so he was very uncomfortable but has rebounded after sleeping the three hours home...and is looking forward to a burger now. His terrific news is that the neurosurgery they did two years ago is now looking so good that we are officially discharged from neurosurgery!!!!! The MRI they did today was read by the neurosurgeon before we left, and we met with him briefly, so now I don’t have to go back there next week for a separate appt with him. Also, his ears looked great with the tubes...better hearing on the horizon =better speech!!!
I’m almost swooning from all of the love today!!!!
AND....I’ve better stop now, I have had two hours of sleep, and I know this note makes that quite obvious. NOW...for tomorrow...my stent out....double, triple, crazy woohooo!!!!

Oh yippee!!!! . I just now got on the computer and was so happy to see the good news on your update. We'll cover you in prayer tomorrow with the stent - praying that your news is equally good and everyone can simply spend some simple, fun time together without any medical clouds looming.
