Oh Paula - I get thunderclap migraines, and I know how bad they are and can only imagine how scary this reaction was for you. Praying with empathy - and incidently glad to know about St Theresa of Avila! - and hoping that you can find a way forward. I have cut out all added salt in our diet to help with my blood pressure - and upped our fruit and veg intake to a minimum of 7 a day, both of which should help with high BP apparently.

Dearest Paula,
I am praying for you and this situation.
I know exactly what you are going through because I was one of the first test subjects for Imitrex and then 3 different migraine meds when I was in my early teens. My father is a neurosurgeon and I have had hemiplegic migraines since puberty. I get a migraine on my left side and am paralyzed on my right side until the end of my migraine. Very scary for a 13 year old!
When I was on Imitrex it made my heart and blood pressure sky rocket the same way. I am so glad you did not wait and got to the hospital. It is a very scary situation. PM me if you want any advice or if you just want to talk

Thanks everyone for all your prayers. Right now my doctor wants to concentrate on getting my BP down, so I don't have any medication for the migraines. Slowly but surely I'll get there.
