Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Paula, I am praying and praying...

And I know other people who've had weird reactions to BP meds. It takes tweaking, especially if you also take meds for other conditions. Be persistent and keep working with your doctor to find the right med and dosage.

(Maybe you or your dh could start a notebook of med names, dosages and your reactions - you may need this in future if you have to work with a different doctor.)

Oh Paula, that is so, so scary! I'm glad you're okay. Now, this was a reaction to a certain type of medication. Did they give you an epi-pen just in case this happens again? Or did they pinpoint an ingredient that you're allergic to?

I said it already, but I'm just so relieve that you're alright! continued prayer!

Paula, I have had reactions to medications, too, and I know how scary it can be. I will hold you up in my prayers today. Try to take it easy and rest, if you can. I know I always feel wiped out after a major reaction like that.

I'm thanking God that you are ok. Sending many hugs-

Paula, praying for the doctor to discern the correct combination of relief for you. You may want to ask your doctor whether the Imitrex could have contributed or added to your reaction. My doctor told me to use Imitrex only in moderation, and my pharmacist told me that insurance only allowed 7 pills per month at the time because of the need to limit usage (this was a few years ago). I always have to lie down when I use Imitrex, as it causes a reaction in my heart. Just some thoughts from experience. I hope and pray you and your doctor are able to solve the puzzle of why you had the reaction you did.

St. Teresa of Avila suffered excruciating headaches during her life and is the patron saint of headache sufferers. Praying for her powerful, grace-filled intercession on your behalf. I've sometimes found solace in meditating on Christ's own suffering from the Crown of Thorns...asking him to unite the pain of a migraine with the agony He suffered for our sake. May our Lord hold you close to Him during your times of suffering.
