I need to ask you to remember my dear brother in your prayers. My younger brother, Chris, has been suffering with brain cancer for 12 years now. Chris' cancer has come and gone over the years. Most recently, it seems to have become significantly more aggressive. Chris will need to have surgery again (his 5th) quickly to remove as much of the tumor as possible. Not all of the tumor will be operable this time.
Chris will have surgery on Tuesday, August 24. The surgery will be quite long, beginning early in the morning, and chemo will be needed quickly (as soon as he recovers) to aggressively attack any remaining tumor cells. I'll be driving up Monday night to be there for Chris' surgery on Tuesday.
There have been many lessons these past 12 years for our family, and I'm grateful for every one of them. I'm so grateful for the peace and grace that allows me to stand before Our Lord trusting in His Providence and Mercy. I ask you out of your generosity to please offer prayers on his behalf for:
** An uncomplicated and successful surgery and recovery - please pray especially for Chris' neurosurgeon and the fleet of specialists involved in this surgery!
** Peace for my family as we wait (not only for my mom and dad, but also for my children, who are very close to their Uncle Chris!)
** Minimal loss of neuro and motor skill function.
** In this and all things, may God's Holy Will be done!
We're asking the intercession of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Joseph, Venerable John Paul II, as well as St. Peter Julian Eymard and St. Bartholomew, the Apostle, on whose Feast Chris' surgery will be taking place.
God bless you all for your generous outpouring of prayers for my dear brother!

I was just thinking of sending you an email asking about your brother! I will most certainly keep your dear brother in our prayers! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Please let us know how he is doing! I wish I were better at words and could say more to comfort you!

Jen, praying for all the intentions each of your family members hold dear in your hearts. May our Lord be especially merciful to Chris...may He bless and guide the hands of all those who will be caring for Chris....may He keep your family in the palm of His Hand. Having lost two brothers, both parents and several other family members in recent years, I know only too well the bittersweet challenges and blessings your family must be experiencing. May these days be filled with profound grace, for Chris and for all you who love him. May the powerful intercessors you are crying out to be especially diligent on behalf of your dear brother and your entire family.
