Hi Ladies,
I am in need of some serious prayers. I am mentally exhausted, not so much because I have been praying, but because it has been difficult to pray through this.
Per our primary pediatrician, she observed our son and said she saw autism in him at his last visit. Which my husband and I have known for some time now.
Our 4 year old son is seeing the Developmental Ped. today and she will give us her diagnosis. We had our son evaluated for autism by our insurance and so far the psychologist was not truthful nor forthcoming with all the scoring. We feel our son did not get his fair share of observation time. Instead we were told we needed parenting classes.
We are beside ourselves and just feel
We are expecting that the Dev. Ped will concede with the pysch.
As far as we know, he is considered at risk, developmentally delayed, with autistic characteristics. Which gives him no recourse to any real therapy or services rendered by our insurance.
He also has Sensory Intergration Dysfunction and Auditory Processing. So he is really having a hard time with just being happy.
My husband and I need some clarity. I know this is all in God's hands, I am just needing prayers of strength, fortitude, charity, and patience to deal with these professionals.
Also to be able to get him the therapy he really needs.
Thank you in advance.

Oh, Claudia! What a roller coaster!
I'm praying for you and your son, and all involved with this diagnosis. May God's will be done, and may you find the peace that surpasses all understanding within His will.

Praying, Claudia, that you get a clear and helpful diagnosis that will allow your dear son to get the therapy he needs, and that you and your husband are reassured that your son is being properly evaluated.
Peace,
Nancy

Thank you all for your prayers they were heard!!!
We just got back from the Developmental Pediatrician and she diagnosed him with Autism. Her DSM IV was completely different than that of the psychologist, so we have to get another psychologist to do another evaluation that is more truthful.
I can't get into all the details that happened, but just know that your prayers were heard and they helped me get through this hurdle.
I can cry and rejoice now, I am mixture of emotions but I don't feel lost anymore. We have a answer and we knew it in our hearts.
Our son is such a special child that brings us joy, laughter, and he has made us grow as parents.
to all.

Claudia... and at the same time....so happy that you have a real advocate in this with your developmental peds..that is so, so big with this diagnosis....and it is all rather bittersweet, too, you aren’t wanting to hear that diagnosis...but you knew it and now you can all start working on the same page, that is a relief on many levels.......praying in thanksgiving and also for wisdom for all involved in your precious son’s care.....and perseverance and fortitude for you all!!

Hi
I wanted update a bit today and request prayers once again please, please, please.
We do have a semi-diagnosis as of today, apparently it was not enough to have just the developmenatl peds. diagnosis. This is for insurance purposes.
To shorten a really long story our general ped. and the dev. ped want my son to possibly go through the whole evaluation again I really do not want to do that at all. They want to by pass the pyschologist all together.
We were referred to another case worker, she is over two hours away each way...but from my understanding she is also able to confirm the diagnosis because she has over 30 years experience and she knows high functioning autism. I asked this over and over because I wanted to be clear that this case manager knows for sure. After that we are hoping it will be the end of all the evaluating and driving. We can move onto real therapy and services for my little one.
So I ask for your prayers and more prayer for my child. What ever God's will is we are open completely.
It just has been such a hit and miss with these 'experts'. The bottom line the only 'expert' is God.
