Only moderators can set up polls on this forum. I'm glad to do it! Here's your topic in poll format. Hopefully, those not inclined to reply will share a quick vote.

I use IE but may switch to Foxfire.

Belle, I noticed a difference immediately...the download time was less than two hours, which is actually quite fast with our dial-up! |

Wow, lucky you! When I was still on dial up and downloaded FF it it took four hours! But yes, it was worth the wait.
I've toyed with the idea of switching to Chrome on the Mac, but I have a few techy friends who had some issues with it in it's beta phase, so I was waiting. But I am quite happy with Safari, so I'll probably stick with it.

I switched to Firefox a few years back when IE wouldn't let me log in to this forum! I think Elizabeth had had problems as well and that was her solution to so I tried Firefox and I love it so much now I'd never switch back to IE. My dh still uses IE and I really don't like it when I do something on his laptop.

I'm now a Firefox user largely, after years & years of Explorer. I like the layout & overall ease of use of Firefox.

I really don't mean to highjack the thread but a simple question. For those of you on a Mac, why do you prefer Firefox? My hubby does too but I've been using Safari this whole time and now you all have me intrigued

I was using firefox, but just yesterday tried out Google Chrome again, and I *love* it.

Can you tell I'm catching up this morning???
I like Firefox because it seems to be much more stable than Safari, with fewer crashes overall. I much prefer Firefox bookmarks and tabbed browsing. I REALLY love the Add-ons which are such great tools for browsing - my favorite is Tab-Mix Plus swoon-swoon! . I also LOVE Firefox's themes!!! I like pretty things. What can I say? And I love that I can change my theme (sort of the background for the top of the browser bar up there) with the seasons or whenever. I love Firefox themes!!!!! I have pretty hydrangeas up as a theme right now!
I do prefer the parental controls with Safari. We don't use restrictive internet software for the kids - HOWEVER, they have their accounts on Safari, and I have parental controls set up so that they only see pages I let them see! It's pretty restrictive, but I like the control it gives me in allowing them to go to an educational website like Starfall or Math Is Fun, but not having the ability to click around anywhere else. And...they don't need to have 15 tabs open at once like me! I think my record is 26 tabs open at once!!! But, Firefox kept up with me!!!
HTH, Mimi!!!

Firefox. My older kids told me for a long time that it works much better for us than IE and finally convinced me to try it. It is pretty much all I use now.
