My Turn!!!!
I am having a hysterectomy this coming Monday, outpatient.....I could give you all of the details leading up to this decision, but suffice it to say, it was made with a lot of prayer and research.....and calls to Pope Paul VI Institute as well, (who agreed with my doctor!). So, it isn’t the best of timing, but Lily is stable now, and just waiting for her pin removal in Sept. The way my doc is doing this is rather new, with only one incision at the navel, so my recovery time is very quick. He said by the end of the week I will probably be off pain meds.....wow!!!! It honestly can’t be a whole lot worse than the cycle pain I am having now.
So, please pray for my safety, for a good outcome, and a very speedy recovery!! Also, pray for my family, especially my sweet Lily. I am sure this will be rather disconcerting to her that I can’t lift her for a while....although she is so busy, she might not be affected tooooo much. 
I deem this the “Year of Surgeries” for my family-my husband’s back surgery last Sept--Lily’s two surgeries, an emergency appendectomy and now my surgery. Good Grief!!!! I figure I might as well get this done now, so when Lily’s trach is out this Fall, we can be especially jolly and not worry about getting mine done at that point!!

You're in my prayers, for sure.
I have heard about the new surgical techniques and I think they're a true blessing. Recovery used to take weeks and weeks.

Wow! Praying for you. Take care of yourself. I have a friend who had the same procedure and she was able to bounce back very easily. And it did take a long time to come that prayerful decision, but it made her feel a whole lot better!
