Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Oh my goodness, Angela! YES! Storming heaven. Ugh...I feel far away too! Please DO take Sarah's advice to heart and just grab hold of God's grace for you in this moment and DO NOT think about the lists of things not getting done. The right now. There's grace right there! Be gentle on yourself! I'm praying and praying for you!!!!!

Thank you for your continued prayers... just wanted to come back and say that the doctor saw no change in the incision... it doesn't appear to have gotten any worse, it's not red, etc., it just isn't closing as fast as they led me to believe. I thought that this morning things were looking much more closed up, but when I look at it tonight, that doesn't seem to be the case. Trying not to feel discouraged.

The trouble is that we're moving in a month... well, less now... and stuff needs packed up, etc. I'm not, of course, just sitting around a lot, trying to keep the boys out of trouble, but I have no idea how all of this is going to get done. The doctor seems to think that it's nothing serious (a problem with previous scar tissue mostly) and will be all cleared up in a month, no problem. But I think he also expected it to be closed up by now, too. Or at least that's how I interpreted "a few days".

I'm cautiously hopeful reading your update, Angela!

I know that moving thing is looming...and I can just imagine how frantic I'd be feeling, but you'll be of no help if this incision isn't healed! Healthy and motivated moms under a deadline can move like no other creature!!!!

I hope the little fella is doing well, and that this morning you can report significant improvement!!! My prayers continue for you and all of your intentions!

Update 7/22:

My third unscheduled doctor's visit, but this one was more hopeful. My incision has still not closed all the way, but the midwife says that it does appear to be close-*ing* well. I felt really rotten yesterday -- like I was coming down with a sinus infection, too -- and called the doctor's office to see if I should renew my antibiotic prescription. Upon learning that my incision was still not entirely closed, the nurse scheduled me for this appointment today. I had ordered some manuka honey, because after doing some research on the internet, I had found that manuka honey is sometimes recommended for problem incisions. The honey came yesterday afternoon, so I put some on the incision and took some orally as well (as it's also supposed to be good for colds).

I feel quite a bit better today and had good results at the doctor's office. I don't know if it was the honey or not, but I am going to keep using it... and hopefully it will hasten the healing a bit! (Personally, I think prayers are having a lot to do with it!)

Something interesting, though... the midwife told me that "this seems to be happening a lot lately" in C-sections from that particular hospital. This was rather disturbing to me. Are the sutures or glue faulty? I would appreciate your continued prayers, and if you would, please say a prayer for those others to whom this has also happened!!!

I will continue to keep you in my prayers....and will also say a prayer for any others suffering with this problem.

It has to be so frustrating with your move approaching---hopefully all your healing will begin to speed-up....

That's interesting about that particular hospital. Did you have staples and then steri-strips, Angela? I wonder what they're using.

Continued prayers.

I'm so hopeful reading your latest update, Angela...and I'm still praying!

Unsettling that this is a trend for this hospital. Prayers for all affected by this!
