Hey, maybe if we folded the country in half, things would be really comfortable in the middle... Today we hit 106; can't wait for the thunderstorms predicted for the next three days.
Peace,
Nancy

78 here in the SF Bay Area today, but it's supposed to warm up (high 80s) this weekend. We'll be visiting family on the Peninsula all day on Sunday though, and it's usually ten degrees cooler there.
Hubby and I are definitely not hot-weather people, so I'm glad it's been a mild summer here so far.

The weatherman was correct. It's 95 degrees!

Hey, we hit 60 (almost) and it is sunny and gorgeous (which means of course we had to go for a hike and enjoy it). Days like this *almost* make up for the yucky rainy weather we've had the past month.

90's here. Our AC quit a couple weeks ago. Thanks be to God for the yard pool. The kids are in and out of it all day. All our summer pictures are of the kids in bathing suits and piles of wet towels seen in all the backgrounds.
I keep reminding myself that a little suffering is good for us.

It is 65 here today. It did cool off over the last week and we have had a bit of rain. In May/June we had highs in the mid 70s with clear skies. Some parts of the UK were rationing water. And most people think it is incredibly hot. It certainly is a break for us from the hot Oklahoma weather!

Wow! I can't believe how hot it is for you all in the east. It's in the 80s here today due to some rain. We've not had too many days above the mid-90s so we're having a bit of a cool down here.

We were standing outside Mass (must have been 98 or so) and talking to our asst pastor. One mom said, "here we are fussing about the heat and here's Father in his black cassock" (the whole enchilada heavy black serge down to the ground with long sleeves! ).....
Father's response (and the point of the story): "ah but this is by choice; I figure if Christ could sacrifice 3 hours on the Cross, I can stand here pastoring all of you".... very impressive ....

It was 105 here in Alabama yesterday with CRAZY humidity!!!
I always get to this point in the summer and start my "only-2-months-to-go...only-2-months-to-go" mantra!

It's been above 100 every day this week here in western Md. I took the kids to a county pool on tues but it was so crowded with daycamp kids that we could barely get in the pool, plus the water was almost like bathwater. It was still a nice break, but you know it's hot when you still want AC in the car going home, even with sopping wet bathing suits on!
It is humid, too, but not nearly as humid as what I grew up with in Ga (although not usually over 100). I am thanking God every day for our AC, which we usually only use a few times each summer. And praying it doesn't die on me, as it's quite old I think. But hot or cool, what we really need is some rain. It's only rained once in the last 3 weeks, and that was for about 30 min one day. We were supposed to get a Tstorm last night but it just blew by and kept going I guess. This is the first year since we moved to Md that I've had to water the garden on a regular basis. I'm not wasting all that time and money I spent on planting!

I live in central Maryland. It has been over 100 most days. Today hasn't been too bad, thank God. We are supposed to have some thunderstorms tonight. I hope we have them. We need the rain.

I think our LOW is going to be 90 degrees tonight...'nuff said.
Although, I am taking to heart Bridget's comment about "a little suffering is good for us." Plus, I can't complain with a/c in the house/car and a pool in the backyard.
But I really REALLY enjoy when the monsoon season finally gets underway!
