Keep in mind that if you don't eat enough food daily your body slows down its metabolism so you have to EAT. My friend was exercising as much as me and not losing because she wasn't eating enough. Imagine how frustrated she was that I was eating so well and still losing. She's doing better now.

This is the trap I think my loved one (mentioned above) is in. Michelle, you've given me a lot to consider and so much hope!
Keep going, lady!...and keep us posted, please .
Love,

Can I brag a little bit? Today was my weigh in day and I lost 3.4 lb. this week for a total of 16.4 lb. since June 30th! I am in a new weight class --one I haven't seen for a while so I'm pretty happy.
I still love my BodyBugg --the feedback is great and it really helps keep me going.
Thanks for letting me share.

Wow Michele, that is really fabulous! Please do keep "bragging" b/c it's always motivating to me to hear of others' successes at weight loss. I just can't seem to get very far in mine I've looked at those Body Buggs online after seeing it on the BL show and wondered how much help one might be, but I'm just afraid it would be one more toy that I'd get and not end up using after all.
Last summer I was either running or walking 45/day 6 days a week, plus keeping my calories between 1400 and 1600, and over 6 months I lost only 7 lbs. It is SO frustrating and i think part of it is that my current doctor has really messed up my thyroid dosage. I finally got an appt with an endocrinologist here but it's a 7 month wait so in the meantime I just have to keep fighting it.
Congratulations Michele!

Karen, I know it sounds backward.. but I tend to feel that in general calories are put too low for weight loss and actually makes it harder to lose weight.
Not saying go and eat junk but a bit more of good for you food might help you lose weight faster than less.

This is where the BodyBugg has been really helpful for me because I was exercising everyday and eating well (or so I thought) but I wasn't losing. Just having the visible feedback and accountability really is motivating.
That being said I do not have a thyroid problem (I had an extensive blood and saliva panel done before I started and my thyroid is fine --I just had low D3 and low progesterone which are easily fixed) and thyroid problems do mean you have to work even harder so I know that's frustrating. Hopefully you can get your dosage straightened out. In any case at least the exercise is good for your body!

While I think this might be true for some (I know there are exceptions) in general it just isn't. I really struggled for a long time with the idea that weight loss was simply a matter of burning more than you consume but now, my experience and greater success than I have ever had in losing weight (20 lb now!) tells me that yeah, that's really what it's mainly about.
We eat way too much food here in the US. 1400-1600 calories is a reasonable amount of food for the day but for a lot of people that's one meal. And please know that I am not pointing fingers at anyone other than myself. I have spent a lot of years reading about diet and weight loss, wondering if it was so hard to lose because of environmental factors, all the additives in our foods, because of my thyroid (which IS a very real factor for some but wasn't for me), or because I didn't eat all organic (still don't) etc. etc. etc.
It wasn't any of those things, it was that I needed to be much more active and eat a lot less. It's not easy but it works (most of the time for most people).
I'm 3 lb. down this week and still really happy with my BodyBugg.
