Hi Everyone,

I have a moment...Lily is stable, surgery went well, but pain management is a big deal right now. She is resting, but can't stand to be moved. Her poor face is swelling by minute. The metal appliace stickes out at least two inches from her face on each side, it is big and very cumbersome and painful right now. Poor girl....

I just ask for continued prayers for pain relief, good decision making for the docs....and a quiet night, so I can get a tiny bit of sleep at her bedside.

My boys have all hung in here starting at 4am this morning....I am so proud of them. They love their little sister, have all taken turns comforting her at the bedside. I am so thankful for their good behavior and help. They get it from their sweet daddy!

Thanks for the prayers...I just keep thinking of the day when we can get this trach out, and this all is a
distant memory.

Just able to get on the computer but have been anxious to get on and see the updates. So thankful that surgery went well - but for Lily's pain. We have now changed our intention to more specifically really good pain control - and for grace and strength and wisdom for all her are caring for her - especially you mom - and her docs.

Quick update-- Lily is sleeping. She has had a rough way to go, but I think she is starting to turn the corner with the pain. Now her bladder needs to wake up!! Morphine really does a number on her bladder. We need for her to GO!! The docs are really pushing to discharge her today! I have mixed feelings. The tylenol with codiene is almost holding her, no morphine since 2am...but the swelling will continue to worsen the next few days, and her pain might be an issue....and that bladder....but I know she would rest a lot more comfortably at home. I would love to go, but am a little afraid.
Bless you all, this is not being done in my own strength... All glory to God and many thanks to Lily's prayer warriors!

Hi Everyone,

Lily is home. She is coping remarkably well.....and she did finally empty that bladder!! I think she is still trying really hard to get her bearings with this big “cage” sticking out on both sides, trying to move gently and not hit them on anything......she isn’t really walking around, did have a nice bath and didn’t splash water on her distractor incisions. All and all, I am pleased with how Lily is doing, the next several days will be spent on the couch, resting. We’ll see how she does when we actively start moving the distractors on Monday.
