You'll love it! (both the machine and the green smoothies!)
I just printed out Sue Gregg's blender batter pancakes that I want to try this weekend! Has anyone tried them? reviews?

That's the recipe that got me hooked! They're really great. Different texture, but they taste really good and are so much more healthy! But, they aren't the fluffy-light ones that we're used to from the restaurants.
Her BREAKFAST cookbook has tons of great recipes for more blender batters...muffins, coffeecakes, etc. LOVE that cookbook!

I need to ask a really dumb question.
Should the blender batter be processed in the wet or dry canister? I know the batter is wet, but the recipe is for grain not flour.
Thank you, Ging

I made the batter in the wet canister (it's all I have.)
They tasted okay, but came out SUPER thin. I passed them off as "pancake roll-ups" with sliced strawberries inside. (They were really like crepes.) I added some ww flour to the last half which thickened them, but they didn't taste as good. Any ideas for fixing them?

Would someone be so kind as to tell me how much these are during the Costco demos?
Tempting...

I have been following the Vitamix comments for awhile now and really have Vitamix envy. I'm just not sure I can justify the expense of a brand-new one right now, even though I certainly understand the value compared to cheaper blenders. I've looked at refurbished and that is a possibility, though still a bit high. I've seen a lot for sale on ebay and most of the newer models go for close to brand-new prices but there are a number of older models more in my price range. I was wondering if any of you have some of the older models and could tell me the model number and how well it still works. One in particular I keep seeing is #3600. some of these are 20-30 yrs old but people say they are working fine. Also, can you buy updated containers and still fit them on the old ones?
thanks
Karen

We had these pancakes this morning and they were a big hit! I love the texture (springy/stretchy) and the flavor is more complex than most pancakes - yum!
Has anyone added fruit or veggies to the basic batter?
Do you leave the batter on your counter over-night? I refrigerated mine.
Any other batter recipes/ideas to share?
Love,

I leave it out on the counter. The grains won't break down as much in the fridge.

There is an example of her muffin batter here:
Carrot Raisin Muffins
I love all of the muffin recipes in that Breakfast book. They are all very good. I'm teaching my 8 yo how to make the Bran Muffins this afternoon....making it part of her evening routine once/week!

Melissa~
I meant to answer this a few months ago, but it got away from me during the beginning of my pregnancy.
Did you do some experimenting and finda solution? Or are you still looking for ways to alter?

Oh good. Why didn't you text me about it?
I tried to find a link to the green smoothie chart I have but it likes now, to get it, you need to sign up for a newsletter. Sheesh.
Love,
