I thought you were going to ditch the van? So glad we didn't go the Ford way, but then dh is a die hard Holden fan.
We went to the ordination happy, happy tears. Saw all your family there.
It was so beautiful, I cried buckets, he was so happy. All those young seminarians they give me hope for the future of the Church.
When they vested him, when he prostrated, when the other priests hugged him, all special moments. At the end he gave his thanksgiving speech and broke down and cried. We waited and waited, then his little Filipino mum hopped up on the altar and wiped his face with a hankie, so beautiful then she cried and had to wipe her face. The Cathedral just burst into clapping, very appropriate, then he couldn't finish his speech, he asked his mum too. Very proud night for the Filipino community. Chemai, he beamed

Thank you fr sharing that Erin.
It was lovely to be able to read about this young man on the Spiritual Motherhood blog, and see comments about it today.

I can imagine Erin; what a huge blessing for the whole of the Cathedral parish! It was a very emotional evening for all! I suspected he would react like that, to know that you have been chosen among men to be Alto Christi would be overwhelmingly profound. We can never know...
Yes, I know they were all there - lucky ducks. I received photos from Fr's first Mass on Saturday and he radiated joy and peace; he has matured beautifully. We are hoping to catch up with him down here.
Yes. The van...the van. We were going to get rid of it, but the time has to be right and we want to improve a couple of things. It has been running well so maybe we are over the worst of the problems...but we are still going to sell it.
Did you know that old Fr Tom Maloney died a couple of weeks ago? He was a beautiful and holy priest, a Marist, which I once had explained to me from another Marist priest, they have the charism to be hidden like Mary. I loved that explanation; even though they are in the world their intention is to be hidden.
My MIL went to his funeral and said that it was very , very moving. Now we have Fr Wood just when Fr Maloney (I'm sure) goes off to his heavenly home - the circle of the life in Christ.
love to all.

Hi Leann,
I re-wrote that post as I generally make a few errors - distracted. So hopefully it will read better now. I'm not the best writer (that's an understatement) but I try my best
Hope all is well with you and the family.
God Bless

This is part of what was so moving on Friday, after he was ordained and went back to his seat his brother priests came forward and either shook his hand or hugged him. There was a unity there, there was a definite brotherhood amongst the young priest and seminarians.
Let not forget though that serving in this diocese takes a real act of courage, it is so spiritually dry, it will be lonely. It is very lonely for our priests, so much politics.
I could really see the circle of life as they all processed from the church, so many of our priests are old now though, even our young ones (60yrs) looked old on Friday. Well I guess there is that big gap no priests from 60 until Fr M and now Fr Peter in their 30s and 20s. All those young visiting priests and seminarians they gave me hope. And to be in a Church with children! That was exciting, I whispered to David, "Look there are children in the Church" such a thrill.

Hi Ladies,
We have just travelled back from the HS camp. IT was a wonderful week of blessings.
Fr T.M was totally on fire, and was full of energy.
There was a lovely mix of new homeschoolers and veterans.
My DD12 just had the best time being very involved with all aspects of camp life. ( we all were allocated cabins)
The beach was across the road, Latin Mass celebrated daily with Rosary and Benediction. there was plenty of time for socialising between catechism and spiritual talks for all age groups.
We celebrated Confirmations and Holy Communions at the local parish church with the Bishop and the girls sang beautifully and the boys alter served.
Most importantly four '4 real' Mums from over here, got together and have a surprise for you all.
Just bumping this up the list.
Thanks Erin and Lyn for your huge efforts. It was a great meeting of Catholic homeschoolers.
God Bless,
leanne

Hi Mary and all,
No the Dominican Sistera were not at the camp, but we had the Bishop of the dioceses for the day, and a lovely new Priest.
Thanks Mary, if you ever have a spare $$$$$ then come on over. We would all love to accomodate you.
We were fed in every way very well.
Many Blessings will flow,
God Bless
leanne

We had a marvelous time at camp
Leanne has summarised it all well.
Be assured that this quartet thought and talked about our 4Real family. We took a photo of the Aussie 4Real members who were present.
Left to Right: Tricia(AtHisFeet), Leanne(Leanne Maree), Me(Erin) and Linda(adnilpress)
We had a lovely time together. And currently we are blessed to still have Linda and family staying with us for a few more days before they begin their long 25hour trek home all the way to South Australia. (We are on the North Coast of NSW)
Btw Mary, I was told that the Dominican nuns from Nashville, in true Aussie humour are called the 'Dixie Chicks'

And knowing the lovely ladies I can imagine they get quite a kick out of that! One of them is coming back state-side which is sad for y'all (as she is really a great evangelist) but good for us. I know she's bringing some novice-candidates back with her which is VERY House of Brede-ish, no?
