Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Thank you all so much for the prayer. We need it.

My husband is being hit particularly hard by this loss, imo, because of the traumatic nature of it...because he saw me coming out of the OR and saw me in a state he shouldn't have (usually family members aren't allowed to see what he saw)...because he sat an additional hour alone from 3am-4am worrying, knowing I should have already been out of surgery...because he so wanted to protect me and did not know if we made the right decision...because we worry about what the doctor did...and if it is reparable.

He works for a Fortune 250 Company and is very high profile...and it is killing him to be at work. He has not had proper time to grieve, but he cannot take the time off--due to the nature of the job. He is really hurting. At least, during the day, the home schooling community has really come together and is basically having someone/mother's helper with me throughout the day...but for him...there is no one tending to him, and he desperately misses his child that he cannot hold.

Please continue the prayers for my family--but especially my husband. I have never seen him like this before, in either of our two previous losses. Perhaps, because, in a certain sense, in miscarriage, God is completely in control, whereas with ectopic pregnancy, there is such a high degree of human intervention.

Thank you for the prayers.

Maggie

I will definitely pray for your husband (and you, of course).

Maggie, I am so sorry. Both you and your husband are in my prayers today.

My husband went through something similar when we miscarried two years ago. It was a traumatic miscarriage where my health was jeopardized as well. I think it was the combination of losing a baby and nearly a wife that made things so difficult for him. In retrospect, I think he experienced post-traumatic stress issues and depression in the year that followed.

Know that we will be holding your dear family in our prayers. I am praying especially that your husband is enabled to find the time and space to grieve. In the meantime, many hugs from here...

Continued prayers, Maggie. This is a great loss, and it does take time to heal, both physically and emotionally.

Maggie,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your precious Margaret Mary. We will be asking your little saint's intercession for you and your dear husband. I am so happy to hear that you have some help at home right now. Be gentle with yourselves and take one day at a time. Hugs.

Maggie, I have been praying for you. I will pray specifically for your husband. I believe you are right---he has his own grieving that sometimes the world does not attend to enough....the father's sorrow. God bless you all.
