Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Naming pets can be a lot of fun. Our first cat was named Shadow because she followed me everywhere.

For dogs we have used the names Truffles, Maddie, and Riley. For cats we have used Milo (who was a girl cat, but the dc like the movie), Willow and Nemo (again after the movies), Midnight and Heidi. Our current cat is named Chloe. And the guinea pigs were Calico, Pumpkin and Sim. We have also had snakes, turtles, and an anole but I cannot even begin to think of all the names we have had for these pets!

Oops on the saint thing. Our current Scottie is named Mungo, which is the name of the patron saint of Glasgow (which is where dh's grandfather was from). Dd tells me the word actually means "Dog". But none of this was on purpose or meant to be irreverent. We got him in March and were looking at a book of saints of the British isles (so the saint part was kind of there), and just fell in love with the name. Didn't know at the time the other connections. He does get a bit of a literary-inspired nickname, though. Being low to the ground as well as being very involved in everything the family does has earned him the Hobbitt-esque nickname of "Mungo Underfoot"

Peace,
Nancy
