Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Bumping this up in case anyone wants to add more comments before we move on to Ch. 5: Schedules. It is interesting to me that there hasn't been more interest in this chapter. I'm wondering if maybe, as Catholic homeschooling families living out the liturgical year, we are already much more "in tune" with the ideas of rhythm and ritual (maybe sometimes even feeling a little overwhelmed or trapped in it all ). At any rate, I do think we may understand the value of rhythms and rituals more than the average, secular family does.

I'll be starting up the Ch. 5 thread later today.

I agree with your statement. I also think that as many of our families are larger than the average (or at least larger than the typical 2 kid family he seems to write about), we have more rhythm in our households just to survive! I know I couldn't get through the day with four littles if we didn't have a rhythm.
