Many prayers, Sarah. You clearly have not been whining enough as I had no idea your dh was away. Long periods of transition can be very trying. Many, many prayers.

oh Sarah! you have been on my mind for weeks ... I knew you had some big changes coming up but couldn't remember when they were. so you've already been in my prayers, but now I will be storming heaven with entreaties for your peace and safety and comfort in these next months.
BTW, where on the "other side of the state" are you moving? I worked in the Tri-Cities for a number of years, and my DH used to live in Spokane, although we both vastly prefer YOUR side of the state.
HANG IN THERE!

When my husband deployed to Iraq, we packed up the kids and moved in with my in laws across the country. It was a Grace filled time for all of us. I love my in laws and we got along great. The hardest part for us was keeping my family rules in their home... bedtime, snacks, etc.. it was no longer a trip to nana's house... we were living there... example.. we couldn't allow cookies every single night, like we do when we "visit"
I know you'll be fine and God will lead you through it.

Oh, that's it! That's what I'm nervous about, but haven't been able to articulate. We lived with my in-laws for 12 weeks once before (about 7 years ago) and I really struggled with holding on to our family identity. And then I worry that I will fail to be patient and charitable every day. It's going to take some humility on my part to live with those who are temperamentally my opposite-- and lots of time on my knees, I think.
Thank you all for your prayers and kind words- they are heartening to me.
(And in response to your question, Viviane-- we're moving to Spokane. )

Sarah:
I've only been without my husband for six months when we had our first (our little guy was 6 weeks old when my husband left). I lived with my sister, who had four children and one on the way at the time. We didn't manage so well. BUT, I was young, my baby was really tiny, my sister and I were both hormonal at the time ...
Your kids are up-and-running. Could you go for nature walks with them from time to time? If forced indoors, maybe you could take a trip to Barnes and Noble or a museum or the Wild Bird Center ...? On the other hand, there might be some days your in-laws need to get away and then you have the house to yourselves for a while.
And you're probably more charitable than I ever was (this is not challenging , just a fact).
And then when my family visits "home" in Wisconsin, I feel like we impose ourselves on their homes and time. It's so hard to coexist with another family in their space. I will definitely pray for you!

Praying for you Sarah. I as well adore my in-laws but to live with them and all 3 of my children without my husband (their son). My God's hand comfort you during this transition.
