Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Bumping this thread because I'm in the market for some new enamelware. Mine is 4 years old, and it does look well loved, but mostly it is still fine. We just have more people to feed these days!

Now, the bowls really do need to be replaced. Instead of hitting on the stainless steel rim, the bowl itself takes the impact, and they are very chipped. I think that this was exacerbated by the tile floor in our old house. It was in both the kitchen and dining room, and it was very unforgiving.

I've lost a LOT of dishes over the years to that floor, so, the fact that my enamelware is still usable, even if abused, speaks to its durability.

My 15 month old is a terror, um, I mean an active little boy , and after a record 5 dishes in one day and glass in my foot two mornings in one week, I realized that I'm just NOT able to stay on top of this little guy. He starts out one step ahead of me each day, and I never seem to catch up

(Actually, he reminds me very much of my oldest, only I wasn't nearly so distracted then )

ALL THAT to say that I'm looking into beefing up our enamelware with new bowls, for sure, and supplementing some other things as well so that I can start using real dishes again, keeping them accessible to the other children.

Golden Rabbit is very expensive, but in examining the plates that are only now beginning to show some chipping around the edges, I think those stainless steel rims are the reason they've held on this long. The rims are awfully dented, evidence of many falls that would have shattered a regular plate.

They no longer carry my bluebird pattern

So, without the possibility of matching anyway, I looked into other options. I've had these glasses and pitcher on my wishlist for YEARS (and since they've carried them this long, it seems unlikely they'll ever go on sale )

BUT, I thought they might have other enamelware, and sure enough they have a pattern on deep discount that is recognizable as a Golden Rabbit line, but for much, much less!

So, if anyone has been coveting some enamelware, this might be a good opportunity!
