Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I can't thank you ladies enough for praying me through this. I am doing much better today. The pain is minimal although still there. But it is MUCH better. I am not cringing nor crying when it's time for feeding. I think I have a latch problem so I've made an appointment to see a lactation consultant tomorrow. Hopefully we can fix it so that way nursing is again a happy and comfortable time for both of us! (All three of us actually....my poor dh watching me go through this!)

I missed this, praying for you, Jen. Lactation consultants are wonderful!

Good news! I met with a lactation consultant this afternoon and she helped me correct the baby's latch. I have nursed a few times already with no pain! (For the first time in some time!) and my breast has healed. Thank you all so much for the prayers! They certainly helped carry me through this.

This is terrific Jen!

When I think about it, it seems wild that I've spent 5 years of my life breastfeeding (currently breastfeeding my thrid child right now, she is 8 months old) ~ I've had my fair share of issue (latch, mastitis, fissures, let-down, engorgement, etc.); but am so incredibly blessed that I was able to work through each of them.

It is incredibly worth it! For yourself, and your little one

I am cheering for you!

Thank you Chris. It's been hard (and still is) and many times I've just felt like giving up. But something keeps giving me strength to try "just one more time". And now the baby is becoming more alert and making eye contact as she feeds. I can't imagine not keeping it up! It's such a special time when she feeds!
