Can I just borrow your husband for some code and consequence setting?
Although, I have to say that my kids would look at a 10 minute time out for hitting their sibling as "worth it".
In general, I can no longer be considered fun. When they were 5 and under, yes. There just isn't enough hours in the day to get everything done.

I have been giving this alot of thought lately. I have become very much a 'not fun mom' and I don't like it at all. For me, the reason I have turned into this kind of mom is because of lack of time. We have become very busy with running here and there for everyone's activities. As a result, I don't have any time for fun. It is all I can do to teach my kids and get food on the table (when I'm so busy, the food isn't that great either.)

After Christmas, I decided that we needed to make a change because I was turning into a very grumpy mom, one who doesn't have time for anything. So we have cut back on a lot of things. We are usually out of the house only for one day of the week. I now have time. I have magically turned into a fun mom!

I now play hockey outside and basketball with my ds. I watch the Harry Potter movies in the middle of the day with my oldest. I sew and do crafts with my youngest. I also helped my kids put together a medieval castle yesterday. We regularly have game nights as well. I am also able to put really good meals on the table now. I am able to do all of this because I now have time. Time is the special ingredient for me that has made me a 'fun mom.'
