My husband always tells me, "Giving up is not an option". But maybe some time having fun with your family (or away from your family, whichever is more appealing at the moment) can be?
I hate those dark times. Praying for you.

Joann, I was there this week ( and am frequently) in that same boat. You want to open the front door and just keep running!   - (yes, laugh and cry at the same time)
Winter is so awful, then add the difficulties of motherhood, add all the needs and wants of so many ages, throw in some vomiting and never ending illnesses, combine in sleepless nights and we feel stretched beyond measure. Financial difficulties, normal discipline issues, etc. can feel like the last straw.
You are not alone. Don't despair. The devil is working so hard on that. He would love to see us fail at raising our large families.
Hold fast through this storm. There is light at the end of this tunnel. . . have FAITH that it is there- the Light of Christ healing your wounds and rewarding your efforts.

I will pray for you to overcome this, and rediscover joy. Sometimes I have just asked our Lady for joy, and she has helped me.
