Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

A 30' by 60' pole barn.

I get to fill it with chickens and goats and horses and tractors.

Oooo I am jealous! I received season 1 last year. I would love to sit down and have a great rewatch of Farscape. I am happy though, I received the complete series of Battlestar Galactica from my son.

From my dh, the 6 quart KitchenAid mixer. My old one was dieing. But it was 20 years old, so it lived a good life he also bought me 2 pairs of boots, 1 dressy and 1 pair of hikers, a big basket of lotions and shower gels and some chocolate!

Fun gifts everyone!

Acorn slippers (the brand, not the style )very comfortable

Candy (Tobolerone, those French hazelnut ones F.R. that I don't know how to spell)

Walker's shortbread in a fun tin

Blueberry tea (ok, can you tell my husband's English?)

Body Cream set

Gift Certificate to Barnes and Noble (already spent)

Diffusers (the ones with sticks..LOVE nice smelly things)

Cheaper by the Dozen DVD (the old one)

and some candles

From kids: pillowcase, Ahava bath set, cute post it pad, tin (from around the house from my 7 year old), and promises of a shoulder massage from my big boy (17).

Dad: gave me cash to help with Christmas for the children (oh, and to buy him a gift!)

This was such a special and relaxed Christmas for me, and the second year hubby "did" a stocking for me! I was so excited!

LOVE these posts...this is so fun!

My husband gave me a beautiful wool wrap he ordered from India! It is just lovely! He had a friend help him find it and confirm his choice, lol. So thoughtful.

I think he also has gotten a kick out of the fact that he ordered it from India on a Thursday and had it by Monday morning! It was reasonably priced and there was no shipping charge--we've joked that he should have gotten me two! (how very American of us )

Julie and Julia, which I have been wanting to see.

this. We used to visit this Abbey at their fall festival when we lived in CA. I have a little angel teaching math above my desk already. I love these.

My fil made what looks like a quilt square out of rosewood and oak, to hang in my livingroom.

My mom gave me a bottle of Philosophy's Pure Grace Shower Gel.

Our kids pooled their money to give dh and I a gc for Cold Stone and the oldest two will babysit the other 4. Yum!

ETA: Dh also bought me a box of See's Candies. These are much coveted in our home since they aren't a local store for us anymore.

Wow! I feel a little worldly.........

Estee Lauder holiday makeup kit and Cinnabar perfume -

This is what I get every year. Hubby gets it on black Friday, and then won't let me have it until Christmas.

I also got "In His Image" by, Mary C. Gildersleeve and am dying to read it. I hate it when I miss that one of you brilliant ladies have written a book. Just glad I found out by chance while 'surfing'.

Dh got an insanely good deal. it was only like $50 for the new Complete set - it was one of the special amazon deals, and was like 50 or 60% off. he just happened to be looking at the right place at the right time - cuz a day later i guess it was back up to like $110.

and Battlestar Galatica - wayyyy cool.

I saw that sale, and hinted strongly. But my dh thinks science fiction is "silly" and wont buy it for me Luckily my sons have jobs, buy their mom nice presents and have been properly educated by mom to think spaceships are awesome

How do you like it, Books? Smells like soap and water, no? You either love it or you hate it!

I gave an Inner Grace set to my mother-in-law last year!

I love Philosophy....

I'm a philosophy girl. I already have some Pure grace body spray and lotion from last Christmas (I work hard to make them last), so I was pretty excited about it. I really like Amazing Grace, too, though. Dh doesn't like super strong scents, and he likes these.

We exchange our gifts on Epiphany (the children are so overwhelmed with gifts from relatives it is nice to spread things out a little bit), but my dd who is 9 gave me a gift on Christmas Eve. It was in a little velvet jewelers box. I knew she couldn't afford diamonds, but was surprised to find a tooth inside. A tooth that had a large cavity in it, no less! My 13yo tried to tell her that it might not be a suitable gift, but she told her "No, mothers like gifts like this." I agree with her. I am keeping it forever, the sweet girlie!

I got a chainsaw, a thermal jacket and a warm hat with earflaps! I bought myself a violin, and dh let me use his paypal account to get a nice digital camera off ebay.

Then he really made my holiday by paying for a cello for ds8 and 3 guitars (one nice for ds9 and 2 cheap for the littles)! I was prepared to buy them myself from my homeschool budget, but he footed the bill

And YOU LucyP?

What a Fun Thread!

For the first time ever, my DH got me a pair of earrings - 14K "Knot earrings" (my MIL told me what they are called).

p.s. However when I first saw them, I couldn't help thinking that they reminded me of God, my DH and myself in our marriage. I will always think that when I wear them

A new birdfeeder...the boys that used to live across the street broke my old one..they told me daughter they were using the pole it was on as a weapon.

A birdbath...weird for Christmas? I have an October birthday, so birdbaths are never seasonal for me, and I've wanted one ever since the boys that used to live across the street stole my old one. At least I think it was them, given the history. Can I tell you how glad I am that these kids have moved?

Some candy for my stocking...

And...a Wii fit! :) I haven't even had a chance to set it up yet...the Wii is new and the kids have been monopolizing it. I'm turning my head until Christmas break is over. Also, I'm quite pregnant, so I won't work it too hard yet. I'm sure it will see much more action post-partum.

My oldest daughter got me a new coffee mug, and my nephew got me a new Nutcracker (the soldier, not an actual nutcracker ), my son got me a new water bottle. My parents and grandmother got me something, but our family Christmas was snowed out so I haven't seen them yet!

Well, my *big gift* just arrived today. It's a Cuisinart brew and grind coffee maker! I haven't tried it yet, but it seems really cool.

Peace,
Nancy
