I'm so glad to hear that Lily's surgery went well! As I was driving my little guys to the doctor's office, I was praying for her, too, and hoping.

I am so thankful, Friends, so thankful. Lily is doing fine, she is in pain, but the meds are keeping it under control....she had a good night in her own bed, restless, but still managed to get in several hours of good sleep.....her bladder woke up , in a grand fashion as evidenced by the water balloon I took off this morning.....it used to be a diaper , and she is watching one of her favorite videos, Cars, and is resigned to arm restraints for the moment. I do think they are going to really crimp her “signing”....that girl likes to “talk”!!
Love to you all, with many prayers of gratitude for your loving attention to my little sweetheart.

Alright...so, one thing down...bladder working - check! Know that you and little Lily will be in my prayers so that her pain can be managed comfortably, healing is uncomplicated, and you are able to help manage those dastardly arm restraints. Hang in there...prayers from down here are on their way!

So, so grateful that all is so well! And also that they'll be able to handle the surgery in March better because of what they've figured out! What a wonderful Christmas gift for you all! Praying that her pain is minimal, her recovery smooth, and that she makes peace with the arm restraints. I know it's hard to see her struggle with that part.
Peace,
Nancy

Just saw this and am SO glad!
Isn't it wonderful that you now have a protocol for next time -- sometimes you have to just wait and wait and then you see how it all came together -- that was what happened with Aidan when his peritoneal shunt kept backing up and they wanted to route it to his heart, which we thought would be a big mistake for an immunesuppressed kid with as many medical issues as Aidan had. Anyway, long story short, during the wait there was new research that ended up meaning that Aidan got the shunt out altogether through an endoscopic procedure, so now he doesn't have one at all.
God is very good and I can't wait to hear that Lily's pain is under control, since I know what a biggie that is
