Little update on Lily:
She's out of surgery and in recovery but that's all 4 Lads Mom knows right now. She's waiting for a report from the surgeon.

Oh, I'm so relieved to hear this update, Maddie...thinking of all of you, 4 lads mom, and continuing to pray for little Lily!
I know you'll update again when you hear something, Maddie...I'll be waiting!

I just heard from 4ladsmom - GOD IS SO GOOD - everything went perfectly - they are on their way home and Lily is doing wonderfully. She will update when they are home.
We are going to keep praying them through the next few weeks - for Lily's pain management and wound healing and that all germs will stay away from their family through the Christmas period.
Whew - such relief!!

Hi Everyone,
We are home. Unbelievable day of miracles. It was as if God was saying, “See, I really wanted it done THIS way!!!” and of course, His way was amazing!! For the first time since she had her first crash and burn last year during surgery and quit breathing......she did not have ONE bronchospasm during surgery today!!!! The reason was, Lily had SIX anesthesiology staff on her case in the beginning....two CRNA’s and four MD’s.....and they all brainstormed and came up with the perfect way to get Lily to sleep that involved a lot, but worked great, and prevented any airway issues whatsoever!! We now have a plan for her big surgery in March, and I feel so much better going into that now. Being a nurse, I could give you all of the trach gymnastics they performed.....but I’ll restrain myself! ( I always want to share all of the ‘technical' stuff, but I know it sort of belabors the point)
The cleft surgery itself went so well, that the doc came into recovery and was like, “You know, this wasn’t nearly as extensive as her original repair, and she did so, so well, that you can go home today!” We had no idea that was even an option, but since she has an airway, (trach) and a means of eating, (g-tube), as long as her pain could be controlled with tylenol with codeine, we were good to go. So far, she has been very groggy, and told us she is hurting, but back to sleep once she gets her meds.....she hates her arm restraints, poor, poor girl, she is pitiful, and not wanting to wear them. We have to keep them on for three weeks....
I am blown away from today. The exact people that were suppose to be on her case today were there.....they all problem solved a pretty substantial issue for Lily, one that really compromised her safety with surgeries....and now that worry has been dissipated quite a bit. It will always be tricky, as long as she has a trach, but not like it has been.....
Now I know why the previous two dates were cancelled.
So, my big prayer requests are--pain control....and that Lily’s bladder will wake up from surgery....it keeps getting distended and she isn’t emptying all of the way.  She did this last surgery, but since we are home now, I am a little nervous about that.....
God love you all, I am eternally grateful for your prayers. I just wish you all could have been there to jump up and down with me. All of the staff that put Lily to sleep were female....and they all loved Lily and came out to check up on her in recovery, each one very excitedly telling me how they all came together to overcome her obstacles today....I could tell they were all very happy and pleased, doting on our cutie girl. It is nice when you feel like everyone is so on your side....

Wow...wow, there is always a reason and prayers never left unanswered, I've seen this before with other dear people that have been prayed for..the things that look frustrating, or even a step backwards, turns out to be the most amazing answer to prayer...

I am so thankful that the right team was on the job today!
I am praying for Lily (and for you, oh stressed-out Mommy!)...your lovely post makes me feel confident that everything will work out well. How amazing, to have everyone you trust be right there to help your precious daughter!

Oh, I've been sitting here waiting for this update!!! Wow! I'm just sending up so many prayers of thanksgiving for the amazing and generous way God provided for little Lily today!!! Deo Gratias!!!!
Know that I'm praying hard about those arm restraints and pain management as well as for that little bladder to start working!!!
Sending prayers for you tonight, mama! What a day, huh? Go collapse on your husband's shoulder and exhale...with some chocolate! and prayers for all of you! Can't wait to hear how Lily is doin' tomorrow!

That is the best news I have heard in days!!! I am so happy to have this behind little Lily and now I will be praying for a speedy recovery, pain relief, and to have that little girlie peeing like a pro....
