The prayers are really getting out for this young girl, in my city in Australia, we have received an email on our email group that informs us of local, Catholic events and prayer requests, we have received a request for prayers, what a blessing, how amazing!!!
Praying for this dear girl that this operation is a great success!!

Oh I am in tears, I just read that the surgery will attempt to drain the fluid in a golf sized brain stem tumor, a very risky surgery with complication possibilities. Please pray for peace for the little girl's mom and dad during the 4 hour procedure. She did receive the Sacrament of Anointing of the Siclk.

Update # 1 from Julie...
"Dr. Albright, the neurosurgeon, seemed confident. (at least he has a good name! haha) The tumor itself is about the size of a marble but there is a good amount of fluid surrounding it about the size of a golf ball. They will put a drain into the top of her head to drain the fluid. Then they will go in from the back left side of her head and attempt to remove the tumor which is in mid-brain. She is in surgery now. I will keep you posted, pass it on wherever you can.

Update #2 from Julie, about 10:30 am CST:
"They have the drain in her head and they are just starting the "long part" of the surgery (you mean to tell me this wasn't the long part?!) Tom is going home for a while."
Julie is in the surgical waiting room with her laptop and I am checking my e-mails quite frequently.

Update #3 about 12:40 pm from Julie:
They are working through the hole in the back of her head and they think they just got to the tumor it'll be a few more hours. They said Maria is doing well so far.

This from Julie about 1:45 pm....
"The neurosurgeon just came down. They had no problem getting to the tumor, they had to go through a couple milimeters of brain to get to the tumor but he had no problems pulling the brain down to get to it. They removed what they think is all of it. They will know Tues. or Wed. whether it is benign or malignant. He said she may be worse for a while and gradually improve or she may be much better. She's going in to recovery now. We are waiting for them to call one of us to go up there (they will only let 1 in). After that she will go to the children's ICU.
What can we say for the power of prayer. Keep them coming."
