Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I know someone mentioned Peter Kreeft and 7 reasons to be Catholic-which is great but he also has a website peterkreeft.com which has tons of his talks and papers online to listen to or read for free. One of them is "Ecumenism Without Compromise — Denominationalism is not just a Christian scandal, but absolutely intolerable" which talks about the need for all our brothers and sisters to come together and how Catholics need to be more protestant sometimes and it is just a great talk and seems like it would be right up your husband's ally. It is really an excellent talk...they all are.

This book was VERY significant in my conversion because Currie speaks "evangelical-ese" so well. I really connected with him.

This post on my conversion blog has some quotes about midway down that might be helpful to this discussion as well.

I happened to link to Martha's conversion blog. There's good stuff there. I especially liked this post and these quotes:

I know what you’re thinking. You’re wondering, “But what does she think about me? She certainly can’t think I don’t have access to God’s grace outside of the Catholic Church!” No, I don’t think God can’t extend His grace to those outside of His Church. To quote Alan Schreck again:      “The grace of God is not limited to the sacraments, but the sacraments make it available to us in a unique and reliable way.” pg. 128 And to quote a favorite priest of mine:      “God has freely bound Himself to work His salvation in the sacraments, but God is not bound by the sacraments to work His salvation.”

I hope this idea is as reassuring to you as it was to me.

Blessings,
Karen
