Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Do any of you get anything in your own stocking? Dh and I both came from families where mom did stockings--including her own. On a good year my dad would take me to the store on Christmas Eve and I'd show him what to get for my mom's stocking. So it's kind of a joke with dh that my stocking will be empty. But I'm wondering if I should get my own favorite treat and stick it in there

Book light or book mark? Because he doesn't actually read them ! Maybe a dust cover for the book shelf would be better until we are empty nesters with more time to read!

Thanks for the DH gift link - off to check it out!

yep I'll get treats for my own stocking.. I have some see's lemon truffles hidden away right now for that

And I've gotten little perfumes in the past. And since I bought 8 of those wooden puzzles I mentioned at the start of this thread and there is no way the littles are going to manage those.. dh and I will each get one of those in our stockings too.. unless I offer them to my sister for her two boys.

A little bottle of a favorite liquor is a fun stocking stuffer too (for grown ups).. you know.. something that you wouldn't buy a whole bottle of due to cost. But one of the little one serving bottles aren't too much.

And everyone gets all the same food treats.. apple, orange, nuts, chocolate, candy cane.. oh I don't do the big candy cane for dh and I.. and I might get more expensive nuts for those I know like them.

fancy hot chocolate packets are good in stockings.. One of my favorites since dh will make me a cup while he's making his coffee

I don't think dh has ever done anything for my stocking.. but he's surprised me with gifts under the tree sometimes.

My mom still has small children at home, so she and I are in the same boat concerning stockings. We are doing a stocking exchange where I buy her stuffers and she gets mine, that way we are both surprised. We know each other so well that it's really a pleasure and one of the highlights of Christmas gift-giving for me.
It would be easy to do with a friend as well.
