Thank you all for your prayers. They are greatly appreciated.
If you feel led, please continue to pray for the baby, the birth mom, our family, and the employees of the county where the baby was born.
The baby was born on December 1 in a county several hours away from where we live. The baby is doing well and is relatively healthy.
After the baby was born, the birth mom decided she wants to try and keep the baby. We were not surprised.
We will have to see how it goes from here. Child protective services in the county where the mother lives took immediate custody of the baby and the baby is in foster care in that county. It is up to child protective services and the judge as to what kind of options the mother will have in seeking to regain custody. The mother has informed the county that if she is unable to regain custody she would like for Dh and I to adopt the baby.
